The calendar may say it is spring but the cold wind that entered this area the past few days will chill you to the bone.
The Bald Eagles are back in great numbers, they know the eating is good from deer that were road killed over the winter. They can pick a carcass clean in just a day or two.
These three older eagles and one younger one I caught flying away.
Yesterday late in the afternoon we had thunder, lightening and small hail/large sleet. It was in round balls bigger than a bb.
It made the ground white again. I watched it fall and bounce around. Went outside to take a few photos before lightening scared me back in …besides that someone had to protect the dog. (he thought I was nuts to go outside)
It has not been a real productive week for projects. I am working on Mikey’s blanket. A few more evenings and it should be done. I am in the process of shredding a bunch of old papers from 2009. I have been tired this week. Far Guy too.
I will blame tiredness on my inability to recall the numbers of our street address one day. I finally gave up thinking about what it was and guessing numbers and looked on a piece of mail.
Far Guy’s infusion went slower than normal this week. Then he had an “oh crap” moment…he removed the needle before finishing with the saline flushes and heparin…so we had to put in a new needle to finish things up…thank goodness for extra supplies! He said maybe we are ready for “the home.”
We had a severe thunderstorm a couple of nights ago and our ground was covered with hail. Two neighbors had their windshields broken by hail. I hope you guys warm up soon and feel better. Have a good weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe had the thunderstorm go thru here last night. Don't think we had any hail as I didn't hear any come down. I know how Far Guy feels about being ready for "the home". There are days when I tell my hubby to just "put me in the home". So I don't have to think or take care of "things" anymore. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteIt looks miserable out there, I am with Chance. We had a cold wind all during our hike yesterday, and even with the sun shining it was cold. I too get clumsy sometimes and wonder why. Of course I always think the worse. I wonder why I do that. And then I'll get a better day and forget all about "the home." :-)
ReplyDeleteI do not think you are ready for "the Home." You have had a lot of responsibilities and maybe a bit of "brain fog" from being overwhelmed. Take a break. Go out to eat or whatever makes you feel good.
ReplyDeleteI am blaming it all on the weather! I have no energy, sleeping 9 hours a night and rising late with the time change.....it's all just too much. One day it was 87 the next is was 60....it's hard for us to adjust at our age, I think. Actually, I don't even think it is our age...I've heard my kids complaining about it too and the grands are tired so that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Chance--LOL! No hail here. Just rain and freezing aggressive wind.
ReplyDeleteYou have a legitimate excuse for forgetting your address in my book because they changed it on you. I've been here a year and a half and still have to think to remember my "new" address...and have had to go find a piece of mail myself to be confident--LOL! And it's even worse for me with phone numbers because I don't have to dial them anymore and they're saved on my phone. Sounds like you're still getting quite a bit done even through you feel unproductive. ;)
Those eagles must be especially tired and hungry from their long flight from tropical southeastern Minnesota.
ReplyDeleteI am so with Chance! :) I'm tried of bad weather for us and for you...COME ON SPRING!
ReplyDeleteSpring is a wild mixture of weather.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering where all the Iowa Eagles go... hehe We finally have the Turkey Vultures back and the Eagles are few and far between. Looks like the Lunch bell rings in Minnesota now.
ReplyDeleteI think we'll all have more zip once the weather settles into some warmer mode. We had a day of rain then sun then more rain... but at least no hail.
ReplyDeleteNo, not the home, not yet. Senior moments are just part of what we live with.
ReplyDeleteIt's cold and wet here. Not very springly.
This winter has been a drag on a lot of people- it's really hard to get motivated for us lately.
ReplyDeleteNo, not the home- Chance won't let you.
Seems to have been lots of eagles hanging around here too. Some milder temperatures, but not too many days without rain. So much to do, it is overwhelming and hard to get started. ugh.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the eagles. It's been cold and snowy here too.
ReplyDeleteWe had that round sleet here in Fargo too. It is called Graupel. I am really ready for some nice warm green weather!
