I am trying to keep it simple. Just give me something that will travel in deep snow has heated leather seats and blue tooth and I am happy. Rear view cameras where the lines show you exactly where you are going…accident avoidance with some kind of flashing lights…heated steering wheel… have you heard those commercials…it isn’t your Grandpa’s Buick anymore? That is what my grandparents drove…a Buick or an Oldsmobile.
The salesman was nice, he is a young fellow so I am sure he could use the commission from the sale. The appraiser was scared to death to drive our Sunday vehicle with Chance inside. Chance didn’t even get up from his nest in the back seat. Far Guy went along just to make sure that Chance wouldn’t mame the guy for life.
Those glossy phamplets they give you to study at home must cost a pretty penny.
Far Guy is sold, he test drove it, I declined. I also declined to made a decision until the perfect color red one shows up in a couple of weeks. They had a grey one, it was a mess from the snow and rain. We live on a gravel road. We don’t have our own car wash.
If we waited a few more years our perfect car might be built…one that washes itself, drives itself while you read, never gets lost and stops at all garage sales.
I want the "perfect" car you describe! lol
ReplyDeleteBest wishes with your choice. Red will be pretty. So funny about Chance not moving from his place during the test drive.
Happy Valentine's Day to you guys this week.
You hit the nail on the head with your description of the perfect car! Happy trails in your new ride!
ReplyDeleteLove your dream car...if you see one please let me know!!! I remember when I bought the Tahoe back in 2001 and I was in my 50's...the mechanic said this is the last car you will ever buy....I asked him if he knew something I didn't know...really? Although he might be right but I did say to him "how old do you think I am?" LOL! My relatives in IL always bought Pontiacs or Buicks too....I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteSilver is the perfect color for not showing dirt. I think your perfect car is here now. I'm sure you could program it to stop t garage sales!
ReplyDeleteRed is sooooooooo you!
ReplyDeleteLinda
This granny drives a Buick, and loves it!!
ReplyDeleteThat car is coming soon. Still I'm very discouraged to find the recent models with all their electronic whistles and bells much smarter than me already....
ReplyDeleteI bought my car online in 2004 (a blind purchase). The local Toyota dealer told me I couldn't purchase a Camry with heated, leather seats because they were not produced in cars for this region and he could not legally get one from a dealer in regions that did. So, I found a dealer in Idaho who had what I wanted, and it was even delivered to my door (no extra charge) and programmed the garage door opener for me. I still drive that car.
ReplyDeleteGo for it!
ReplyDeleteLeather seats are a must to me, My playful Husband
Turned the heat on me in the hot summer when we got the car.
took me a moment I thought I was having a hot flash.
Enjoy your new car. We are still driving the boat we bought back in 2000. It has 130K on it and still going strong. Knock on wood..... hugs, lJ
ReplyDeleteAre you getting a sedan-type car or something like an SUV - whether the smaller or larger size? I want our next one to be up "higher" like a smaller SUV so we don't have to climb up out of the car but can just step out. It's hard on the knees and arms some days to get our of ours to an upright position!
ReplyDeleteSUV that is easier to get into and will travel through snow:)
DeleteThat sounds like the perfect car to me! SUV! That's what I want! Linda above is right. I'm tired of pulling myself up and out of the car. This little Toyota Corolla sits right on the ground. Can't wait to see your new red one.
ReplyDeleteYes, definitely hold out for red! No snow or snirt colors! I bet most of your readers don't even know what snirt is. :-)
ReplyDeleteOur white one has a ding already. I am trying not to be a big baby but I just have had it three months and some idiot slammed their door against it. I am looking for a truck that I don't need a ladder in which to get into. I don't want the big price and when I sell it I don't want to throw away thousands of dollars. I may never buy one. I get tired of going through the buying process.
ReplyDeleteI don't like heated seats they can catch on fire that has been on the news numerous times as they seem to be faulty more often then not and the cameras wont work unless they are cleared of snow slush or ice every time I find the more it has the more to be fixed lol but hey each to his own eh?! lol ! Hope you found the perfect vehicle . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteIf the self-washing, stops at all garage sales vehicle gets made I'll be in line for one too. In red, of course.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will tell us what you buy. We haven't bought a car in 15 years. we are about due.
ReplyDeleteHappy shopping! I hate car shopping. It is such a production. We are so glad to have found Car Max...don't know if you have those where you are, but we've bought two used cars that way, and very happy.
ReplyDeleteAs for self-driving cars...the wait may not be as long as you think!
I feel for you - I HATE car shopping and even more - writing the check!
