It rained just like summertime... In February. I think it may have thundered, Chance hid.
When it rains on heavy snowpack it makes fog.
I call it snow fog but that may not be the correct term.
You could see about two car lengths.
I wouldn’t want to be walking.
The driveway is slushy.
The yard is a lake. When it freezes our yard will be a skating rink. Late in the afternoon it rained really hard. The path to the sauna is free of snow!
I heard that Detroit Lakes had snow thunder and hail. It was 49 F or 9 C eh!
We have April weather in February.
There is still snow at the snowstick…but who knows for how much longer.
I can't believe it but as much as I love the (non) winter here, you make me nostalgic for the many faces of winter in Minnesota! My daughter sent me a picture of 3 year old Mason in shorts and snow boots yesterday! Poor, kid doesn't know what to wear in such strange weather!
ReplyDeleteWhat crazy weather everywhere! The big talk on the local news this morning was about the strawberry fields...the plants are already blooming. If it turns back to winter here, NC, we will lose everything. The peach trees are blooming now too. Usually our last frost date is April 15th. It's crazy!
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather here also. It was in the mid 60's yesterday. Kids across the street are wearing short sleeves and shorts. This is not February, that's for sure.
ReplyDeleteIt was 77 here yesterday and 50's are the usual for this time of year. I hung clothes out and my Spring allergies (which I never had before) had me about blind by evening....windy out and tree pollen evidently. Sneezing and my eyes were like slits.....it got me to bed early because I couldn't watch t.v. or read....I had to just close them and give them a rest! LOL! I'm pretty sure this is real Spring! At least down here it is. Forsythia is blooming too. Snow fog....remember it well! It rained all last night but no storms just rain.
ReplyDeleteThat fog is amazing. Hearing from blog friends across the country, it is very strange weather indeed. Our pollen count for this date is the highest ever.
ReplyDeleteSounds like lots of areas are having strange weather. We found Harbinger-of-Spring (Pepper and Salt) yesterday at Garbry Big Woods Sanctuary.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely crazy weather. Stay safe on the roads and on the ice.
ReplyDeleteThat is weird weather. I don't like rain in winter.
ReplyDeleteI HATE driving in stuff like that. We had that weather in January..sure is different! After the mud comes dry! Dry is soooooooooooo good!
ReplyDeleteIf your back yard freezes will you be lacing up your skates? ;-)
ReplyDeleteNo! But walking carefully with ski poles:)
DeleteGee, you're getting the torrential rain we've been getting here on the west coast!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a crazy winter hasn't it? We had a thunderstorm too. Today is 72* Next week the weatherman promises winter will return. Crazy!!
ReplyDeleteOh, be careful walking. With my recent fall. I just cringe at the thought of ice. But...it's 61° in " the cities" as I type.
ReplyDeleteWe have very similar weather; rain on top of a couple of feet of snow. Sure hope it doesn't get real cold again. I'm ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteThe weather is crazy all over . Here it is warm and sunny like it is in April temps were up to 14C eh? or 58F and sunny . We have no snow all green again , rain for the over night with fog then sunny again , crazy weather indeed ! Hope your yard doesn't get to flooded or worse iced over . I am ready for spring for sure ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteDefinitely strange weather all over!! Our snow is just about gone now and believe it or not now there is a chance of more next week. I hope the weather people are going to be wrong!!
ReplyDeleteRained here too. Like you say, crazy weather!
ReplyDeleteOh, you'll probably have more snow before this winter is over. We are supposed to get snow/rain showers tomorrow, and then possible thunder storms. Weird weather.
ReplyDeleteWe had lots of rain over the week end, but rain in February is more common here in Texas. Now snow would be something I would write about !! I believe Spring has arrived in my part of Texas.
ReplyDeleteEveryone is commenting about the weird weather where they are, too. Our weather is pretty average for the date, I checked. But what a winter we've had! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't blame you for not wanting to go ice skating just now. What a mess! We have a lake in our front yard, too, this February. I guess I should be thankful that at least it won't freeze over!
