I am going back into my photo archives hunting for photos for a special occasion in March. At the same time I am deleting photos AND retrieving photos of the grands.
I think this photo was taken about 25 years ago….I found it as a scanned negative. Far Guy spent the better part of a few weeks scanning all our old negatives a few years back.
What kid doesn’t like a fire truck? Every year at the Father’s Day Picnic little kids get to climb all over the fire truck and sometimes they got to go for a ride. This photo was taken in 1992.
On the right is the old six by six that Far Guy drove through a line of fire in a CRP field while I was on top with the hose…I leaned over and squirted the hose through his window and finally just held the hose in my hands and pointed it straight up so it acted as a waterfall and cooled the air around me. Needless to say I was relieved to get back to the black (the area that already burned.) I also gave him the what for.I can only work on this digital project for a short time…it is tedious…one digital folder at a time. I also have to bring down several photo albums to make sure I get the dates correct. I would like to have this project done by the end of the month…I am crossing my fingers on this one.
Going through all the old photos is a job I need to do also. However, since it is so tedious, and should I inadvertently delete a photo hubby might want to keep, I haven't even started that project yet. Good luck to you. So do you think we will ever see the sun again anytime soon?

ReplyDeleteYes, it is tedious and hard on the eyes to go through digital photo files. I'm glad you're taking breaks.
ReplyDeleteGood thing you're pacing yourself on this this project. It could quickly become overwhelming. I smiled at your word for 2017. There are some projects that are like that, ongoing, aren't there?
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is ever really possible to be finished with taking care of photos. I guess because I'm always taking new ones and I never got caught up on the old ones! Ongoing, is right. Progress would be a good word to hold onto, too!
ReplyDeleteI need to be 'more like Farside'! You are inspiring with all the organizing and sorting that you do. I feel like I've been in a 'funk' much of this month, and have accomplished nothing.

ReplyDeleteYou are so good with utilizing your computer! I have a scanner on my printer and was going to use it to scan photos but it takes forever so then I saw a handheld jobby that was good for doing it much faster but I haven't purchased one. What do you use? I need to do this....the kids are getting 'antsy'! LOL! You and Far Guy have certainly had some adventures!
ReplyDeleteOur youngest son tells the story of being at the Idaho fires, years back, and being on a school bus driving through trees on fire. He said that the driver was driving as quickly as possible and he noticed the driver was white as a sheet. That fortunately was his one and only close call. Your hose shooting water in the air brought that back from my old memory banks.
