Three Days of Snow

It has been snowing here on and off since Monday afternoon. We have been hermits since then, who wants to be out on questionable roads anyways.

This time the snow is light and fluffy and blows around a bit.

More than eight inches of snow Dec 7

We have just about eight inches in the yard.

The snow slides right off the shovel!   Far Guy shoveled some, then I shoveled but left some for today.  No sense in doing it all at once.  The freaking snowblower wouldn’t start…it has an electric start that just made a grinding sound.  Good thing my brother came by with his big snowblower to do our driveway.

So far the only decorating is by Mother Nature.

The Christmas Cards are done and most are mailed, I still have a few on my desk that need to go to the Post Office.  Most of the Christmas Ornaments have been mailed or will be mailed soon.

We have discussed where we will put the Christmas Tree downstairs. A new spot this year.

One of these days I will bring down the angel and the Nativity and the decorating will begin.

  1. Wow! Now that's what I think of when I think of Minnesota. Just right snow for skiing on. :-)

  2. That sounds like an awful lot of snow. Sure hoping we don't get it. we are expecting snow this weekend - they say 3-5 inches. Last Sundays snow was about 2 inches of super wet stuff. It turned into solid ice (compacted) the minute you tried to shovel it. Don't blame you for hibernating.

  3. they said it was going to be rough winter everywhere in the midwest. We have the cold now but no snow. I figure if I have to stay inside and it's cold anyway then snow would make it way more interesting! I hope you get your snowblower fixed....I think you're going to be needing it! Take care!

  6. The last picture brought up great memories of my life in Calgary, Alberta. Brrr! I've been here (west coast) for 30 years, and remember it well, but have no inclination to visit in the winter!

  7. I'm going to let you keep that snow up north, while I stay warmer in Texas.

  8. Yahoo! The snow looks so beautiful! We are supposed to get snow today here in Portland - a rarity for the Willamette River valley.

  9. That kind of snow, well you shovel it off the pathways, then the wind picks up, and you are right back where you started from! A bit of snow early in the week here, and more expected tonight.

  10. Wow! You got a lot more snow than we did over here. Dry, light snow drifting about--yes! The grouse are here digging with their little feet in the snow to find the goodies in the snow. Been so cold that The Girls are here more than at dusk and the sparrows are here off and on all day. Good weather to stay indoors!! :)

  13. I'm getting fat not having to shovel snow here in South Carolina! Think of all the Christmas treats you will be able to eat because of all that exercise. 😋

  16. Well, you will get your workout this week with all that shoveling. What a time for your snow blower to go out!!! Thank God for family! Glad your brother could stop by and help out with that.

    Keep safe and warm!

  17. It is snowing lightly here this evening, but will hopefully turn to rain during the night. Slush is yucky, but we have places to go in the morning. Eight inches of snow here would bring the city to a standstill.
