Well we got snow and it is white. It was a heavy wet snow.
Friday morning, the snow continued to pile up throughout the day.
I went out just before dark to take a few more photos.
I ventured through the snow to sweep off the snowstick. It says about seven inches but the wind was blowing the snow around…so I will guess we got about nine inches. The snow was above my snow boots…uffda that was a chilly reminder that I should have shoved my pants legs in my socks.
Birds visited the feeders throughout the day. A few geographically challenged Finches, and our usual Chickadees, Grossbeaks and Woodpeckers.
This poor tree is broken.
The sunset was pink through the snow filled trees.
Far Guy shoveled a path for Chance and my other baby brother plowed our driveway.
There is time enough to do the shoveling today, we have no plans to go anyplace, it is probably just as well I imagine the roads are a tad icy. We are thankful that we were able to escape power outages, many were not so lucky.
The weather channel named this storm Argo.
Glad you were safe and warm at home. I love that pink sky. Take care.
ReplyDeleteI hate the broken trees, but love the pretty snow ;-).
ReplyDeleteArgo? They do give weird names to storms don't they? Wrap up warm and remember to tuck your trousers in next time.
ReplyDeleteThat was a significant snow. Will it stay or will it go? :-)
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWow! We had about 2 in and it was hard to shovel. That stuff isn't going away until next spring.
ReplyDeleteSnowfall depth here was hard to determine because of the wind, but I estimate between 4 and 6 inches. It was a heavy, wet snow.
ReplyDeleteSnow is so pretty, in pictures. When we lived where it snowed, Colorado, I didn't think it was pretty at all.
ReplyDeleteThe pink sky picture is so charming! In a way, I envy you. It is always exciting to have a first snowfall. But the, I give it some more thought, and remembering the cold that goes with it, I'll stick with the Pacific West Coast!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THAT PINK SKY! What a gift! And all that lovely snow. We had lots of flakes but nothing stuck!

That was a very heavy snowfall. It is shocking enough to have the cold but the white stuff is harsher on the system. When I walked Barney last night I found I didn't have enough on to keep warm. The wind blew right through it all. Stay away from those shovels and they are bad for the body.
ReplyDeleteWe only got 1 1/2 inches over here. Looks lovely actually. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, that is quite a dump. Is the forecast for more or will this melt?
ReplyDeleteSnow is so pretty but so inconvenient. I like the pink sunset through the snowy trees. Keep cozy!
ReplyDeleteInnalways have so many questions but never ask
ReplyDeleteExpecting the same tomorrow here.
ReplyDeleteThat is a wet clinging snow.
ReplyDeleteStay warm.
I was wondering when you'd start talking about snow. We still have leaves on our trees, but just got our first frost, so I thought it might be about time.
ReplyDeleteThat last photo is a keeper. Almost seems surreal...
That heavy wet snow is the kind we get here on the Pacific coast. It is beautiful for a day and then drip, drip, drips away. I wonder if yours will.
ReplyDeleteI miss the weather channel most of all without satellite. I used to love seeing all the snow locations and the storms and keeping up with friends across the nation and their weather. Your photos are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love that last shot miss!
