I spent the weekend in my garage…by choice. Cleaning and organizing and trying to get ready for a garage sale. Time is getting short and if I am going to have a sale then it better be soon! My garage needed a good cleaning anyway…sale or no sale.
During a break Far Guy suggested we take a trip over to the Flea Market and see what Sam had for sale. I found a few pieces of glass and some dice.
We saw a garage sale sign on the way back home.
It pointed this way.
A road through the swamp.
Getting closer.
We finally arrived. Sometimes getting to a sale is just as much of an adventure as seeing what is for sale. She was a very talkative lady…with eleven outside cats…Chance enjoyed Cat TV whilst we wandered through the sale…outside and inside the barn. I found a few treasures…a music box that Adam will find entertaining and a couple of wooden puzzle blocks that will be a challenge for the boys.
I bet Chance did enjoy the CATS! lol
ReplyDeleteLooks like an interesting place to enjoy browsing around. Glad you found a few treasures.
i love those back roads that end up leading me to a really neat place. I'm sure Chance enjoyed all the cats. Glad it was worth the time and effort to get there,
ReplyDeleteConfession time: When I read the title of your post, I quickly scrolled through to see if you had any Shiny Brite luck. :-D Then I went back and read the post. You found some interesting things. Love the back road pix. Good luck with your garage sale if you have it.
ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time I loved garage sales. You just reminded me that I seem to have outgrown the temptation to rummage through them. Glad you found some treasures, though. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a lot of work to prepare for a yard sale. My friends and I used to have one every year - a fun time to visit and purge our closets. We don't do them anymore, so my closets need a good purge.
ReplyDeleteLovely scenery! Hope your garage sale goes well.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet she was glad to see anyone and everyone who would drive that road!

My hubby used to love garage sales - both visiting them and having our own. I, on the other hand, would rather take our old stuff to Goodwill than sit around all day bartering with people.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! Not that was an adventure just getting there! Sounds like it was worth the trip just to chat with the lady. Ha! Sounds like DogTV on the Cat channel--ROFL!! ;)
ReplyDeleteI love yard sales...don't see too many out in the country and I don't like going to town, so I miss most of them. My last garage sale was about fourteen years ago, and I swore I would never have another one. Too much work!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are beautiful. I love music boxes (and cats, too!)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos. I've lived in the suburbs for all of my life but inside I'm a country girl at heart.
ReplyDeleteI love that barn. I am fascinated with old barns! I haven't been to a garage sale in ages. I have so much junk of my own.....
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty lane to the farm and sale. We enjoyed an estate sale this weekend. We got a peek inside a beautiful old house and picked up a birdbath and a small bookshelf. Garage saling is a treasure hunt for grown ups!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very interesting find, and certainly off the beaten path!
ReplyDeleteAnother Minnesota adventure. I am sure that Chance did not want to change the channel once the cats showed up on the screen.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteSo some of the out of the way garage sales can have many interesting items that are not in other sales.
ReplyDeleteYes, I can well imagine Chance enjoying "Cat T.V."
ReplyDeleteWell, that looks like fun. Not cleaning out the garage, although that can be rewarding too.
ReplyDeleteOne of those sales that makes you wonder where on earth you are going to end up!
ReplyDeleteCat T.V.....too funny! I've been debating about whether or not to have a sale or just take it all to the Thrift shop and donate it. What a fun adventure taking that road. I'd love to live down a road like that....just an old farmhouse...heaven! Good for you cleaning and clearing!
