Happy 4th of July!

We will have a quiet day at home, we have had a busy pre 4th week.

In previous days we attended two picnics, ate way too much and enjoyed visiting with a number of people. The two gallons of potato salad I made are almost gone.

At one picnic we enjoyed some Boudin straight from Louisianna…it warmed my tummy for 24 hours and I only had one bite.  Far Guy loved it… he said “Those Cajuns sure can cook!” Boudin is a sausage casing filled with pork, rice, onions, peppers and spices.

Happy 4th!!

Chance will be glad when people stop shooting off fireworks down at the lake.

  2. Happy 4th! Wow! That's a lot of potato salad you made. You're holiday flag is cute. Love it! I'm with Chance on the fireworks. We have a neighbor who's been shooting them off every night til midnight for several days already.

  9. We have had neighboring towns or farmers shooting off fire works that past two night. I got out there with Barney last night and I wondered if he was hearing what I was hearing. We went two sides of the house and ended up at the blue gate to go back inside. It sounded like a distant war going on out there. We do chicken today with my wife's friend and then come home for a nap.

  15. Well, we don't hear people shooting them off at the lake because it's about 10 miles away, but they certainly shoot them off all around us and they start days before. Perhaps by tomorrow night they will have quit. Two gallons of potato salad? Whew. I wouldn't have minded helping y'all to eat it.
