February Thaw

We are having a thaw, what a mess.  It just makes for icy areas that will eventually be covered by snow.  Hip breakers.

We still have some snow. It was 36 F or 2 C eh! yesterday.

Five inches

Lets call it five inches of snow at the snowstick.

I tried to work in the woodshop yesterday…tool troubles caused a hissy fit and a near melt down, I came in and collapsed on the couch.  I am going to buy my very own Rotary Tool and smile when I hand back Far Guy his piece of crap junk that doesn’t work for me.  He has no problems with it…when he is in the woodshop I just ask for his assistance.  I know I am mechanically challenged…but still…why do some things have to be so difficult.

Wreathg by the door

This is my after Christmas look at the wreath by the door.  Rummage sale stuff.

Welcome wreath

This is another rummage sale bargain.  I need to touch up the paint on the flowers and fix that poor birds leg.  I know it is kinda Christmasy but I still like it.

HP is sending a box so Far Guy can mail back his computer.  He is using the laptop for the moment.  He has it hooked up to his monitor and says it isn’t too bad.  We usually only use the laptop when we are away from home.

  2. We had 70 degrees yesterday, a record high for the day. The old high was 68. Tom and I went birding. Still lots of ice on Lake St. Mary's but we saw a few migrating ducks.

  3. They are lovely wreaths! We lost about half our snow cover in this melt: 44 => 22cm!

  6. Isn't it odd how some things are easy for one person to use but not another? A mystery. :-)

  7. Wouldn't it be nice if it just kept on thawing and all the snow went and Spring started for you? I guess that's asking for a bit much....:(

  9. Egads! We have hardly had any snow this winter! Thank goodness. I don't need any hip breakers here! I love your wreaths. I need to make the rounds of the garage sales and see what I come up with.....wait, I need to have a garage sale and get rid of my junk first!! Hope you have a good week!

  10. Melty mess, yes. But the ice is the dangerous part when it freezes again--like today being 21 degrees. I haven't used woodworking tools, so I would have no clue what I was doing. Using tools is a skill. Leah has it. I don't. LOL! I hope FarGuy has good luck with the laptop in the meantime. That's all I have anymore. My desktop computer broke down so many times Dagan took it away from me--ROFL! :)

  11. I've had the windows open for 3 days now and the robins have left. I guess I was just a "stop-over" so they're on their way. Keep a look out! It's been in the 70's but now a cold front is coming. I love changes in the weather!

  12. All the melt and moderate temps are making me think about spring, though I know we'll have plenty more cold and snow for a while.

  13. What a contrast this winter has been from last winter for you. We are having a record breaking wet winter, but very few freezing nights.

  15. Please watch those icy spots. A broken hip is the last thing you ( or any of us) need.
