I must have been off in La La Land on Tuesday. Far Guy was gone to town getting new tires on my car and the only one to assist me in wardrobe choices was Chance…and he obviously doesn’t care what I look like when I leave the house.
I must have been in a hurry when I went to the shoe drawer.
I happily went to town for lunch with my cousins, no one said a word…not even my Mother or Father. After lunch I walked down the street and got my hair trimmed…no one said anything there either.
I discovered it when I got home…Far Guy said “You will HAVE to blog about it.”
In my defense if I had noticed in town I would not have given up and drove all the way home to change shoes and go back to town like someone else did the day he had one brown shoe and one black shoe.
I might be a little vain but 30 miles extra so I match…not happening.
Other happenings in La La Land: We got most of the log siding on the south side of the house stained again….the sun beats down on them. Yesterday we painted the west side of the sauna…I even had a whole quart of the right color paint…will wonders never cease! Far Guy built me another shelf for the furnace/laundry room. I am still working in my garage.
Oh, dear! Either everyone else was very polite or didn't notice either. I haven't done that, but I did go to school with my garden shoes on one day. I had to make the drive home and change -- students are very observant and not so polite!
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to see what was wrong - so maybe no-one noticed!
ReplyDeleteProbably no one noticed as they were too busy looking at you not your feet. Aren't" La La" days fun?
ReplyDeleteThe one on the right looks way more comfy to me. I would have noticed that, if nothing else. :-)
ReplyDeleteLOL, that is a Kodak moment ;=) Don't feel bad, I went one day with a shirt inside out and didn't even know it! No one even said anything to me!
ReplyDeleteYou may have just started a new trend in fashion, don't worry:)Hug B
ReplyDeleteSo funny, but they don't look all that different, so people probably wouldn't notice. And how often do we look at feet unless someone is wearing some preposterously high heels that make them wobble when they walk. I've done this with socks.
ReplyDeleteTwice now I've worn a brown and a black shoe. They're clogs by Clarks. So...they feel the same. Both times it was me that finally realized it. At least yours are the same colour.
ReplyDeleteI've done this, too, when I was still teaching. I looked down in the middle of one class and noticed I had one black shoe and one navy shoe. In those days, I purchased multiple colors of comfortable styles, but getting dressed at o'dark-thirty made it difficult to see the subtle difference that one morning.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in college, as an adult, I did the same thing one morning. But discovered it when I got out of my car at school, got back in the car and went to a nearby shoe store and bought me a pair of shoes.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! I did the same thing the day we went to the hospital to see our first grandchild - I had put on pumps -both "Naturalizers" and exactly the same model - but one brown and one black! No one noticed and neither did I till we got back home and time to take off shoes. Now that girl baby is about to have my SECOND great grandchild and all is well with everyone. I have been reading my maternal family history and found out my grandmother, who lived to about 100, had 55 great grandchildren. I guess the longer one lives, the more possibility of having many great grandchildren.

Ah they are close enough that no one would really notice unless they were having a good look. They look like crocs? I know you like your crocs:) Saw a FB posting that showed a guy in crocs and socks, and it explained what the holes in crocs are for. It said that's where your dignity leaks out:) I have crocs too, use them as slippers. Meredith worked for a podiatrist who said they were terrible things for your feet.
ReplyDeleteLuckily the shoes look close enough, I'll bet no one even noticed! But you're right it's good for a few chuckles.
ReplyDeleteSeems like in today's world with wearing mismatched socks as an "in" thing you are right in style! However you made my morning by sharing. At first I didn't notice the difference. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteHa ha - but I do love mismatched things, especially socks!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a principal, I left home very early in the morning. I would leave my clothes out the night before so I wouldn’t wake my husband. One morning I just grabbed my shoes in the dark. Of course, they were two different colors, and one even had a higher heel. I noticed it later that morning but couldn’t go home to change.
ReplyDeleteLuckily, I don't have that problem. I only own white gym shoes. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell at least it is the same kind of shoe. I have kids at school that deliberately wear two different patterned socks. I looked down at my feet as we were getting into the car to go to church and Sunday school. I had my black socks on but I was wearing my addidas flip flops. I put them on quick to go get Button up the stairs and back into the house. I think I could have pulled it off. They certainly were more comfortable than my shoes. It is when you don't know the difference between your shoes is when people will start to wonder. Hang in there.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny, especially about Chance not caring. There's no telling what I might do these days!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I would have noticed. I think there are a lot of residents in La La Land.
ReplyDeleteWell I've been in that land in some early morning classes in the high school. Wearing two belts at the same time, mismatched socks, a zipper that didn't work etc. Thank god a collegue who was the home ec. teacher bailed me out more than once. Oh I forgot a tear toward the back in my slacks....:)
ReplyDeleteMeh, at least they were the same color ;-).
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about...I had to look at the picture for awhile to figure out what you were talking about! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't ? you if I saw either but I would wonder to myself lol ! Oh well it is what it is . I did have to look twice at the photo once you mentioned it lol ! No ones perfect cause that would be boring if we all were ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteHow is it that you have two pairs of shoes that look so much alike? Isn't that just asking for trouble?
ReplyDeletemy gosh, those two shoes are so much alike ..... who cares???? Glad you had a nice day!
ReplyDeleteFar guy was right. It makes a good blog post. Ya! Odd socks maybe! But odd shoes are pretty hard to beat. You have some good healthy humor about yourself.
ReplyDeleteLa la land! Funny - I can see why it happened (maybe "somebody" placed the shoes by the wrong partner) - :)
ReplyDeleteI agree...similar styles. And who spends all their time looking down at the ground?! No wonder nobody noticed!
ReplyDeletePainting/staining is HUGE HARD WORK! I know I just finished the outside of the house. Now I'm getting ready to paint my bedroom...sigh. They look pretty close to me!

I would have just left them on, too. Hey--they were close, anyways.
ReplyDeleteKarma never cares what I wear, either.
Sounds like you guys are really going to town in this gorgeous cooler weather. :)
Those are not THAT different and why would anyone pay attention to your feet anyway! LOL
