Far Guy has the crud again, he is taking antibiotics and a steroid. He is supposed to be resting and drinking fluids until his stomach sloshes with water….his words. I just tell him to keep drinking water. I don’t care if it sloshes in his stomach…
Yesterday I left Nurse Chance in charge of Far Guy whilst I went out to lunch with my cousins and ran a few errands.
There was a really weird woman waiting in line at the Pharmacy window…she must have been a former prison guard …or maybe an inmate. Spooky to be waiting in line and have someone staring at you the entire time. I wondered if I had a huge booger dangling from my nose…I checked a few times…nope no booger. Maybe she was high on something…who knows.
My cousins report that another cousin’s (Daniel) crud turned into pneumonia. Aunt Anna had the crud and it lasted well over a month. My other baby brother had the crud for about two weeks before finally getting some antibiotics.
So far I don’t have the crud. I hope I can escape it this time. Seems to have been a tough winter for many people especially the elderly.
We are due to warm up here…into the 40’s F or about 7 C eh! I have to see it to believe it. Maybe some warm temperatures and some sunshine will chase the crud away.
Hydrangea bloom August 2014
So sorry to learn that FG is sick. Praying that he improves and that you will remain healthy. I love the pretty hydrangea.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear Far Guy is sick. I do hope he gets better soon and that you don't get sick ! I love Hydrangea's . Thanks for sharing and take care !
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear that Far Guy has the crud. I'll pray that he gets over it quickly and that you don't get it from him. So glad Nurse Chance was there to keep an eye on Far Guy while you were out
ReplyDeleteThis has been a terrible winter for Far Guy. I sure hope he gets better soon and it doesn't end up pneumonia. He's been taking an awful lot of antibiotics for awhile now, it seems. :-(
ReplyDeleteI too am concerned about both you and Far Guy because you both have been sick too much this winter. There is no better nurse than Chance!
ReplyDeletePlease be very watchful during these illnesses and get further medical help if you think things are getting worse. Keep us posted on how things are going. We worry about you.

Oh, no! The dreaded crud, and yet again! So sorry to hear it. I hope the warmer weather we have coming this weekend will raise your spirits and send all the germs away.
ReplyDeleteI hope FG gets better soon and so sorry the crud is going around your neck of the woods. We are supposed to warm up considerably the next few days and looks like we'll have sun! YAY!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I hope Far Guy gets better soon. My daughter (school nurse) has kept some sort of crud continually since November. She's decided her immune system is just down in the gutter right now. She gets all the little kiddos coming through her office with flu, stomach bugs..you name it. I'm starting to worry about her- she is pale as a ghost, but hanging in there.
ReplyDeleteOh for the lovely hydrangea to bloom again....hopefully in the next couple of weeks. We will get freezing temps again tonight, but we did escape the ice storm last night. It rained instead, thank heavens!
ReplyDeleteOh no - poor Far Guy! We've suffered from the Crud here too. A tiny bit of sunshine and warmth would go a long way.
ReplyDeleteHope the crud will go away soon!
ReplyDeleteWe don't want pneumonia ever again for you, Far Guy or my Bennie.
It was this time last year Bennie got so sick
I know you will be glad to see the day when the crud leaves for good! Take good care of yourselves. The hydrangea bloom is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteStay healthy! I hope FG recovers quickly. Oh, and stay warm!
ReplyDeleteStay well! This winter has really been awful with so many people getting sick. Knock wood, I escaped it!
ReplyDeletePoor guy, always something catching it seems.Take care of eachother, Francine.
ReplyDeleteSure hope Far Guy's doctor intervened in time to stop the crud in its tracks!
ReplyDeleteGet well soonest Far Guy.
ReplyDeleteStay well Far Side.
Be a great nurse Far Chance! (hey he needs a "Far" too!)
Make sure you start taking some vitamin c. Hope Far Guy feels better soon and can kick that crud out the door! The woman probably thought she knew you or had met you before ;)
ReplyDeletePoor Far Guy...being sick is the pits! I hope you get well fast, Far Guy!

My wife's crud is a little better. With her heart condition I was worried that we would be hospitalized. I would want her to be if it kept up being the same. We need some hot weather for Far Guy and my wife to get them out of this.
ReplyDeletePoor Far Guy......do you think cabin fever or boredom causes the crud? I haven't gotten it mainly because I stay home and don't see anyone. The most dangerous time for me is when I go to the pharmacy. I wonder if that woman was "packing". My girlfriend who retired from being a psychologist said if you knew how many people out there were so "whacko", you'd be afraid to walk out your door. Ok, she used more professional terms like angry and hurting.....I call it "whacko". My mother was a psychiatric nurse at Chicago State and she used to take me with her when she picked up her check and she would introduce me to patients and they were so nice. I worked at a mental institution as a medical lab tech and the patients were the nicest...why is it the nice ones are behind bars and the crazy ones are out running around? Not counting us, of course! LOL!
ReplyDeleteYou might not want to look at my blog...it's all about the wonderful snow we got....you know how I love it!
See I told Ya you'd get some nice warm weather. I hope you don't get the crud. It seems the flu shot we had this year didn't have the right stuff.
ReplyDeleteI hope hope that weather truly does warm up and chase the crud away!
ReplyDeleteThankfully, we both have escaped any colds, aside from some sinus congestion that Grenville usually has to deal with. And we too are ready for some warmer temps and serious snow melt downs here in NH.
