Hello March

It feels warmer now, it was snowing last night.  Some fresh white snow to cover up the dirty snow. It always warms up to snow…it is like a Minnesota Rule…that and when it is clear in the winter at night it will be cold.

With the warmer temperatures ( 20 F and – 6 C eh!) I have been getting out to take some photographs.  That always cheers me up!  That and it is staying light until 6:04 PM and next week when the time changes that will be 7:04.  We have eleven hours and two minutes of daylight now.  The sun was out two days in a row!  What simple things make me more cheerful less cranky.

We took Chance to visit some of his friends. Winter is long for our pets too.  Chance knows where his friends live and when we drive by without stopping he seems sad.Putz

The photo ops were great. Chance had a good visit!  We have known these dogs since they were pups…so we are always greeted like long lost friends.  You would be hard pressed to find two dogs as nice as these dogs are.  Both have had  forms of Lyme Disease just like Chance.  Odda is thinner this winter and seems more ouchy than she was.  Those darn ticks anyway.

Since the snow was gently falling to the ground instead of arriving sideways at 40mph I would say March is coming in like a lamb!

  2. Odda is a striking dog. Putz seems almost feral in your photo!

  3. Yes, it's March all over the world and we know what that means: spring is really on the way. Love your doggy neighbors. Funny to think of it being 20 degrees and being warmer! Around here we hardly had a winter at all. :-(

  5. Beautiful dogs.... but the header photo of Chance makes me smile, I love those "semaphore" ears of his and his sweet expression.
    Yes, c'mon spring!

  7. Love the photos - Odda is a real beauty; Putz looks a bit weary of winter (aren't we all?)

  8. Beautiful photos of Chance's friends. Many years ago, we took our Bella (at that time a wild 10 month old Black female Lab who became my best friend) for training. It was there that I met my first and only Bernese Mtn. Dog as lovely as Odda. She was gentle, beautiful and her manners put my Bella to shame. We have since had to put Bella down sadly. Due to our ages, no more dogs. So, I treasure your photos of Chance and his friends. Thanks.

  11. Oh, dear! I feel for the dogs and Lyme Disease. Not fun at all! A tick is such a little thing to cause so much danger and discomfort!

  12. Even dogs need friends to get them through a Minnesota winter without being too grouchy! It's 18 here and I have a hike planned for after lunch.

  13. Your seems to have got it right this time...just a bit. Usually snow gets out of hand and gives us a big dump.

  14. I am not sure if the time change will be very fun. My first day of March seems to be a real challenge and spring is only a far off dream. I did plant tomato seeds so I must be thinking about being around a little longer. Barney really has liked the warmer weather and stays out more with more daylight.

  15. Those dog pictures are beautiful. Honestly, looks like framed pictures you would buy to hang on the wall. I sure hope all of March will be like a lamb.

  16. The first day of March and luckily we are enjoying a weekend without snow in Nashua, NH. The snow that's here will be around for many more weeks and it is now becoming very dingy and dirty as well. Nice that Chance had a chance (no pun intended) to visit friends, even dogs enjoy visits.

  19. I smile at the thought of the doggie play date.
March is entering in a very lamblike fashion here, another sunny day, though a bit colder than it was a week ago. Daffodils and forsythia and cherry and plum trees make for a pink and yellow froth against our evergreen.

  20. I bet you have finished with the snow...maybe March will surprise you with a early spring, wouldn't that be nice?

  22. What great friends Chance has. Odda is just a strikingly beautiful dog.
Well, I suppose that means out like a lion. *sigh*

  23. Beautiful dogs...all of them. We have loads of ticks down here...I have to spray myself when I mow. Terminex does the yard for me and the dogs but the darn things come off the trees and bushes too and of course we're surrounded by woods....Tick Paradise!
