I have a Sedum called Autumn Joy. Last winter was real hard on it but it still had a couple of blooms.
Usually it is covered in bees in the fall…not so much this year.
Another joy of autumn is the Tamarack trees or “Larch” they are a deciduous conifer. It means they lose their needles and grow new ones next spring. The go through the winter totally naked and dead looking.

ReplyDeleteWhen there is a picture with a road in it, one can almost transport into the picture for a drive in the country. The trees are beautiful, as is the sedum.

ReplyDeleteWe had almost no bees on the Autimn Joy sedum this year, and not many last year, either. Very sad. Nice photos...I like tamaracks but wasn't familiar with the term "larch." Always learning something from you, Connie! .

ReplyDeleteI've had some shots of trees behind up, as the sun is almost down, glowing so brightly they look like they are on fire. It would have been lovely to drive past your trees!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I just bought two little Autumn Joy plants today:) I planted three plants in Oliver two years ago exactly. They have done really well with the lack of watering. I think the two new ones will be planted here.

Ashley's road is a beautiful area. I like the hills that looks like southern Iowa.
