Half the month is over. It is strange that we have not had a hard killing frost yet. As strange as our weather was last spring nothing is surprising anymore.
It began to rain again yesterday. The fields look like they are private lake property. Ducks are finding new feeding spots.
Chance is so bored…when he gets bored he just wants to eat jerky treats…there is food in his bowl all the time so he is NOT starving to death.
I need a new scarf and a winter hat. I used to be able to crochet.
I still can.
I bought some funky yarn. It has balls of fur and Chance likes them. Far Guy said “If you find that all slobbery sometime, it is your own fault for dangling them in front of the dogs nose.” Ya sure.
I crocheted a long piece and then sewed the two ends together… to form a cowl. It is a bit weird. I will probably rip it out…I think it needs to be wider and shorter. The chenille yarn is soft and warm. (Red Heart Boutique Chic yarn.)
I bought some more yarn, and am working on a different pattern. A hat with a brim…at least that is my vision. If that works I will crochet one with the funky yarn with the balls:)
I had to enlarge the picture to make sure I wasn't looking at some animal laying on the crocheted piece. Yes, you still can crochet! I used to do it, too. Maybe I'll take it up again this winter. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat is unusual yarn. I'm afraid Far Guy might be right!! Chance may attack it at any given moment. Crocheting is a good way to pass times during these rainy days. Warm here too!!!

ReplyDeleteNow there's something I've never seen before! Looks like you've done a great job with the crocheting. I sewed a cowl neck-warmer for Augie a couple of years ago. Made it out of fleece. That, too, took a couple of tries to get it the right size. It was warm, though, and sometimes I think I should make one for myself.
