March 13 2013

The gremlin in my computer reared his ugly hear again.  I finally surrendered and took him and my desk top to the repair shop.  It has been giving me fits when it had updates where it had to restart. System restore didn’t work this time from any of the recent restore points and system recovery was the pits.  So I gave up.

I have most everything backed up.  My photos are on the Simple Saves.  Some of the files on the Simple Saves are duplicates..I will get it all straightened out sooner or later. It is discouraging..but not devastating.

I will struggle along with the laptop until my desk top is fixed. Some people like laptops..not me. I have one for it’s portability when we travel and as a backup.

I am still exhausted from the time change.

We finished with the cleaning of the grout..yeah!  Cross something off the list!!

It is supposed to snow again…bet you wish you lived in Minnesnowda!

The March Flag

This is my flag for March..my other little garden flag is totally buried by the snow:)

  5. We have a "Time Capsule" for our backup. But it still is a pain when the computer won't work properly. Ours acts up now and then ever since we upgraded. I think the groundhog was wrong this year. Spring isn't going to come at all. More snow predicted for today :(

  8. I'm with you on the computer woes and the lap tops. If I had a laptop I'd have a mouse to go with it. Speaking of mice, now that everything else is up and running, the mouse has decided it doesn't want to scroll.

No snow here, but at least the rainfall warning has been dropped. Three plus inches of rain since Monday night.

  12. Computers - what a love/hate relationship. We've got laptops; much better for travel. I have a mouse, but typing is a pain. Miss the desktop. You can't not blog - we'd all suffer withdrawal! Uff da, all that snow!

  13. Ahem...oh yes, I do wish we lived in Minnisota...not. Snort.

Sorry, back to regular non sarcastic stuff here. Sorry about the snow, but ours is going away slowly...could you have caught it from someone else?

I love my PC more then my laptop too, just don't tell it.

  14. I really like the banner for the month of March. I hope you eventually find the smaller one under all the snow.

  15. Nice flag. The son is taking computers in high school and plans on going to college for computers also! He is in the process of building us a new desk top also. I love the laptop now that the big computer seems to be so slow that I hate even using it anymore. I had originally bought the laptop for college and like you said for when I travel. Hope you can get it fixed without too much problem. I still need to e-mail you on the piping for the stove. I promise to soon, hope fully spring and warmer weather will make its appearance sooner rather than later!

  16. Mine was givin' me fits yesterday but it was a server problem and not mine. I always take any computer problem too stinkin' personal and think it's me.

Snow??? Hun, ya'll can have it. 'Seems we've had our share this year too!

God bless and stay safe out there sweetie!!! :o)

  17. Yeah, desktop for me, too. Everyone else in the family is a laptop believer, but I'm still sold on my laptop for earnest work. For when I travel, I have caved--just a little--and fallen in love with the iPad, though. It helps me keep up on my reading, but even though it sports its own blue-tooth enabled keyboard-ette, I like my wave keyboard on my desktop too much to give it up for the dinky little thing. So...when I travel, it's all input and no output!

  18. Computers can be a big pain. I find that I have to regularly dump a lot of stuff...search records, caches, temporary files and then my computer gets happy again. However it's been too grumpy recently.

  19. I like my desk top too. We use Carbonite for back up. But I find I am using my laptop more and more, like now, as I sit in my recliner in front of the TV. I use a mouse which sits on the arm of my chair. My lap top is just a 14 incher, nice and portable, but with a decent keyboard.
I hope your computer woes are soon resolved. When I contemplate it, I do find it amazing that most of us have more that one computer in our homes now. Remember when we didn't have any?

  20. My sister would love that flag.
I don't care much for a laptop either. And I really don't understand why younger people are enjoying their SmartPhones almost more than a computer. I like my phone but like my desktop computer so much more.

  21. I prefer my desktop computer too!
