Snow

Well we finally got some snow.  It was raining and then the temperature dropped and it snowed on Sunday night/Monday morning.Chance by the Day Lilies

Chance by the Daylilies ..they froze one night last week and started to turn a pale color.  They will survive..hardly anything kills the Daylilies..they grow like weeds.  That Folgers Coffee container is Far Guys fancy squirrel deflector…they go up the pole and into the coffee container instead of on up the pole into the bird feeders. HA!  Chance by the walkway

This used to be the walkway into the garden..I guess it still is..if you want to walk close to the roses. The roses are planted on the outsides of the wheels and are suppose to climb up the wheels..but they don’t like the warmth of the steel…so the roses avoid the wheels by growing on either side of them..often the canes are arching into the walkway.

The Marge Grasss in the snow

Can you guess what this is?  I thought it was interesting looking all covered in snow.

Most of the snow melted in the afternoon. It was most entertaining..and a welcome sight because we really needed the moisture.  We can still get snow for another month..after mid May it hardly ever snows:)

  1. Such interesting weather! We are past the time when we get freezes (I think) but it did get down into the 40s last night. It was getting too warm already for comfortable sleeping weather. Love the pictures, you know I love any with Chance in them. :-)

  3. Enjoyed your photos. Snow... uh, not so much, but as you say, moisture is moisture. Our burn restrictions have been lifted with this weekends rain.

  6. Looks like the garden hose got left out. Snow in April. Whodda thunk it?! We are still nervous about planting tender stuff like tomatoes, etc because the "last frost" isn't until the end of the month -- but since warm weather storms are already wrecking havoc around about us, perhaps the "winter" storms are finished.

  7. Snow-lover that I am, I envy you your white stuff. Yet, I never thought of snowflakes as being aliens (<--cLiCkY-cLiCkY!), because what a funny crop circle your garden hose turned out to be! LOL!

  8. The snow is pretty but it's time for some green grass. Great idea with the coffee can. I'm afraid that we all could be experiencing some drought this year.

  9. That looks like a snow snake. I have those running around my yard, but more often than not, mine are not coiled up. I hate, Hate, HATE fussing with hoses.
We had snow on Saturday. We only had a few inches, but a friend of mine, only about 30 miles from here, had 10". Crazy place that we live.

  10. Well I'll be....I guess squirrels aren't that smart but Far Guy is! LOL! Is that a rope or a dog leash or clothesline cord? Snow...I wish....I've mowed twice already and it needs it again...whew! I can't keep up. I like your weather....you probably don't have too much of a mowing season. I like to mow actually but it gets so hot here in the summer that it isn't pleasant at 96 degrees and 96% humidity. Down here you can't be out in the summer....that's what I call a "bummer summer"! LOL!

  11. Wow. Snow in mid April.
I love the coffee can idea; does it work?
Good of Chance to pose for you in a couple of pictures. :o)
I would guess that last picture is your hose.
    Have a wonderful day!

  12. I smiled at your snow, but then we've had snow here in April the odd year. Glad you got some needed moisture. Usually no shortage of that here on the west coast. Lots of people seem to be worrying about drought already, it's been a weird winter in a lot of places, although not here.

  15. I'm surprised it missed us over here in Fargo. It was cold enough, that's for sure.

Looks like the garden hose brought out for this early spring. We could still have snow for another month is right!

    I didn't think anything stopped squirrels! ;)

  16. That weather system must have been huge. We had exactly the same thing here. As for your mystery photo? Hoses under the snow! I could have taken the same picture.

  17. Oh, no, not snow. I'm thinking your mystery photo is a garden hose too.

  18. Looks like MN skipped summer and fall and went right back to winter! ;) We've yet to see spring!

  19. That mystery shot looks like a hosepipe covered in snow.

We've had quite a lot of snow and most of it seems to have disappeared, but it will probably be back!

Chance looks good against all that white.
