We had a really hard frost on Thursday morning. Then a chance of snow was forecast for Friday morning..it did not develop…although it certainly was cold enough.
We had some fog that went along with the frost.
Chance and I walked around in the yard. Catching the last bit of Fall in photos.
Wild Raspberry foliage turns such a delicious color in the Fall.
The spiders have been busy building their webs on the climbing roses.
The rose foliage was still green..and frosty.
I think that winter may be coming soon…although with very little moisture..make than no moisture in the ground, I am sure it will be a hard winter for perennials and trees. If the snow stays away and the temperatures stay above freezing..I would welcome a couple of weeks of rain.
Our yard work is mostly done…all the leaves are in the woods or have been mulched to smithereens. Chance’s pool has been put away. Far Guy mowed the wildflower area. Far Guy is still cutting and stacking wood. I have been busy doing some Fall house cleaning and playing catch up…not that I will ever be caught up but I am giving it a good try:)
I wish you rain and a mild winter.
ReplyDeleteI love the photos with the frost. We are about the same as weather goes. For once New England got all the snow, not us. hehehe
ReplyDeleteWhat amazingly beautiful photos. Good job Far Side! This is a good time to do mowing and what not so things have a fresh start in Spring.
ReplyDeleteSounds like it here. I think we will be getting snow soon being in Canada and ya'll know we are known as the frozen north lol. Lovely photos. Have a wonderful day !
ReplyDeleteLovely photos.
ReplyDeleteHope you get the weather you want, Far Side.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Fabulous shots! We've had a bit of frost too, but today it's so mild, almost like summer!
ReplyDeleteAs much as the snow is a pain... I hope we all get lots of it this winter!
ReplyDeleteLove your frosty shots!
Pics with frost are beautiful - - - but God has a way of doing that with His creation. You and your husband are very organized and work well together as you get the nest ready for cold days ahead. You sound happy to be doing household activities for a while.
ReplyDeleteIt seems just the other day Chance was playing in the water and the kids were in their kayaks. And now the frost and winter just around the corner! Happy Halloween. The spider webs are spooky! :-)
ReplyDeleteJust love that color, and texture of the wild raspberry leaves....
ReplyDeleteNo frost here yet, but we do have your rain, all of it.

Beautiful photography. Love the frost. Sending you wishes for rain as I do for Arkansas as well
ReplyDelete'Just amazes me...your rose foliage is still green!!! I'm down here in southern Mo. and mine turned ugly brown a week and a half ago!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are always stunnin'!
Hopefully this won't be the only snow the weatherman misses for ya!
God bless and have yourself a super Saturday!!!
Certainly has been frosty, that's for sure. Was 24 at 7am this morning in Fargo. I love your frost pics!! The spider webs are really cool. Gives you that settle in for the winter feeling.
ReplyDeleteFunny, they've already had snow in Colorado and out east, but it has missed us. That's okay. It will be here soon enough. :)
Very pretty photos - I hope Winter will not be too severe. Glad you are able to get out and enjoy being with Chance. Wishing the three of you a very nice day. Don't work too hard.
ReplyDeleteNice shots! Almost makes me look forward to the frost coming!
ReplyDeleteWhere did all the leaves go Chance?
ReplyDeleteOh, boy... That cold weather has found you again. Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteCool pictures with all the frost. I always dread getting everything 'ready' for winter.
ReplyDeleteConnie, you remind me that every season is beautiful in its own way. This fall has been stunning and I'm truly going to miss it. It's been one of my favorites of all time. But it must end, mustn't it? The pretty frost makes it a little more tolerable. Still glad for fall sun and golden leaves. :)
ReplyDeleteThe frost really highlights the color and texture in these photos. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteNow how cold was "cold" the other morning? We've had a lot of minus sixes C the last week or ten days.
Very pretty pictures......I like what frost does.....in a picture......not the shivery feeling I get when I look at them;) My leaves are mulched to smithereens too.
ReplyDeleteThe frost certainly makes for some great photo ops though:)
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing your snow measuring stick this year.
ReplyDeleteReally? You're not caught up? I thought I was the only one in that lot. But you sound farther along than I, but then you actually have a winter to get ready for, ours always seems like a big fat surprise, I think it is the month of constant reprieves from a good solid freeze.
ReplyDeleteLove the frosted leaves and webs, delightful!
That is what I'm tring to do...clean the house for winter..ugh! I'll feel better for it I'm sure. I much rather be outside..........

I have yet to begin on my yard. Maybe now that the farm has it's buildings cleared now except for the barn and a granary, that I will have the winter off with the work down there.
