We headed south from Winnipeg..picked up Chance and went to the Crystal Ballroom at the Ramada in Fargo North Dakota.
a chocolate car:)
a spotlight car
TA DA..this is the one I purchased..it is a gang car..I guess the gang goes out to work on the track. I also purchased that little W..it is supposed to trigger the whistle when it is connected to the track..I wanted more..but Far Guy said one was plenty. Someone (think grandson) has already played with my gang car enough that one of my gang went flying off. I have the original box too..all good Lionel Collectors go for the boxes too..not that I am collecting them or anything. I spent more for this one car than Far Guy did for all the other cars he bought that day.
The train upstairs.
I think perhaps Far Guy needs to build more shelves..
It was a good weekend, one we both enjoyed. Chance survived too..he did just fine without us for 36 hours, Jen, Andy and the grandboys took real good care of him:)
I think it is so wonderful that you both enjoy this hobby together!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the pictures with us. :)
I love seeing what other people have a passion for in their collecting habits. Trains always fascinate me in other folks' homes, not something I want or need in mine, but then you'd probably wonder if you saw some of the stuff that gets dusted once a year in our home.
ReplyDeletesuch fun. i was just in fargo two weeks ago! i got stopped by a train, but it was a full-sized one, chugging down the track right through downtown.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good weekend together and found some cherished train parts.
ReplyDeleteLove your new header.....SO AUTUMN! Two train shows in a row......somebody must think he died and went to heaven;)
ReplyDeleteWow! A chocolate car, my mouth is watering. I always enjoy your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe Winnipeg Train show...in what looks like a school gym. The Fargo Train show...in the Crystal Ballroom! Now how do you compare:)
ReplyDeleteThe chocolate car would be my favourite!
Somewhere, maybe, we have some model train cars and some of their boxes, that we picked up at a garage sale many years ago. I'll have to see if I can find them.
I love that Hershey car! The gang car is cool, too, but the grandkids had better be more careful with the treasures. ;)
ReplyDeleteYes-FarGuy needs more shelves.
Glad Chance had a good time on vacation, too. :)
I love that chocolate car also!
ReplyDeleteA commenter said at the beginig of your trip that there had to be a train session so here it is. I worked an the railroad maintenance crew for 10 weeks the summer I finished hgh school. It was 1957 and the last of the steamers.
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE HERSHEY CAR!!! Perfect!

Are you the conductor or is Far Guy? Sounds like you're both having fun.
ReplyDeleteOh girl this looks absolutely amazin'!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun ya must of had.
God bless ya sweetie!!!
You have quite a collection there. I didn't realize how many you had. Neat that you both enjoy this hobby. I haven't been skunked yet and hope I never do. I have been around when one did skunk up an area. It was nasty.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize until this post that you love the trains, too. I thought it was just Far Guy. It's great to share a common interest.
