Talk about windy..most of our leaves are out of the trees and into the woods. I have a pathetic rake and plan to buy a new one..the handle keeps coming off…which makes me say “Bad word, bad word.” We raked, chopped ..and made dust. I moved acorns by the shovel full into the woods. It was a heck of a good year for acorns.
We moved most of the lawn furniture into my garage…just incase it rains..the furniture is put away dry. Sigh.. I have a couple of old plastic chairs on the patio now. Far Guy thinks he has used the grill for the last time…maybe not..I may want a grilled hamburger one last time.
Want to see leaves and sticks in the air..falling like rain?
We stopped by the Long Lake Public Access to walk Chance when a huge gust of wind came by and lifted all this crap in the air:(
That is definitely a fall picture.
ReplyDeleteBe spring again before you know it, Far Side. :)
It's the same over here - forever walking on a carpet of dead leaves. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteRaining leaves and sticks...winter is definitely around the corner. ;)
ReplyDeleteFirst time I've seen a photo quite like this! Good job!
ReplyDeleteI didn't see any small dogs blowing by, Connie. Must not be that windy. :-) Good catch with the picture of the stuff in the wind!
ReplyDeleteSame here. All the leaves are falling. Our oak tree didn't produce very many acorns this year. Usually we have a blanket of them on the ground - not this year. Great pictures as always.
ReplyDeleteWe have been lucky and had beautiful warm sunny fall days and it will continue through out next week as well. Our fall here in Canada is wonderful chilly nights frost and dew in the mornings but sunny and warm during the day. Cool photo , Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteYep, leaves plugged up my fountain yesterday. The sky is definitely fallin' but I don't rake my acre of lawn...I chop the leaves very fine with my big old lawn mower....Woohoo!!!! :o)
ReplyDeleteHave a stupendous weekend sweetie!!!
Sigh....I'm in the same boat. The lawn furniture and things that were hanging in the carport (aka wood stacking/splitting area) need to be moved into the garage this weekend as well and the wind is howling here although not enough to blow the leaves out of my yard (darnit)! Raking also on the weekend agenda I guess! LOL
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it's going to happen....but I guess it will.
ReplyDeleteGreat action shot.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
Envious of your blue sky:)
ReplyDeleteThe leaves won't be all off the trees here until the end of November.
It is looking like fall there. Leaves have begun to fall here. The squirrels have been having a buffet everyday on my pecan trees. It's ok though since the pecans were a bust this year. Two years in a row no pecans. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot! You have no idea how long I tried to take a shot like that last year! Well done.
ReplyDeleteLook at the leaves blowing by. So many years we would rake them and pile them in the garden for Terry to plow under in the spring. It's all hard work.. I'd be cussing out that rake too.
ReplyDeletePraise God you are home and get to help with the transition of seasons! That is a beautiful picture and it looks like the stuff is blowing out into the lake rather than in a yard. I'm impressed with your action shot. I tried to get leaves falling last year and they were quicker than my trigger finger!
ReplyDeleteI guess it is really time to say goodbye to summer. Fall is definitely here!
ReplyDeleteMost of our leaves have dropped but it's been so windy that raking is way behind schedule.
ReplyDeleteI love when the leaves fall like rain! I wish I was there, we have gotten way too much rain lately for my likin'. But it has forced me to get lots of work in on my tractor, movin' dirt, getting ready for the next round of LaNina, I do not intend for my next crop of taters to turn into vodka in the ground. We have such dis-similar weather it isn't funny! I've been researching, personally fuchsias that don't mind heat, if they can stand my full sun they ought to handle your shade... doncha think? any who do ya suppose I could mail you some to try without getting arrested?
