We celebrated the 4th of July a day early. We went up to Cass Lake and then over to Star Island.
It was a really nice day, not much wind with the temperature around 80 degrees F.
Star Island is a very popular place to gather. We got there early and were almost the first boat there.
Half the people in Minnesota showed up before the afternoon was over. Jen hopped up on the storage place on the back of the pontoon and held the camera high in the air for this shot!
I got a good photo of Far Guy and our girls.
They are all kinda smiling too. It was a good day with family on the water. The grands all had a blast! Chance had a great time too..with all of his favorite people.
Funny how you forget how miserably cold Minnesota can be when you are out on the lake in the water on a warm summer day!
Happy 4th of July!:)
Happy fourth to you too:)
ReplyDeleteYou are surrounded with such beauty...thank you for allowing me to go with you.
ReplyDeleteWow, that is a lot of people. Glad you enjoyed the fourth of July holiday even a day early. Now you can enjoy it again today. A two-fer.
ReplyDeleteHappy July Fourth.
Happy Independence Day! Great pictures, hope nobody got sunburned or they will have their OWN fireworks on the Fourth! :-)
ReplyDeleteAll those lakes in Minnesota and everyone has to show up at the lake you select to spend the day!
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of Far Guy and the Far Girls.
Happy Fourth!
ReplyDeleteWow, good thing you got there as early as you did.
Kind of chuckled at everyone stood around in the water with drink in hand:)
GREAT photo of Far Guy and the girls. How is is hand doing? Will he ever have complete range of motion and strength in it again?
ReplyDeleteIt does look like it was a beautiful day to celebrate family and our country. So glad you are close together and enjoy each others company!
Glad you had such a nice day. Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteFor our weekend, the USLMRA (U.S. Lawn Mower Racing Assoc.)held their races here this year - what a hoot! Then there was a REAL carnival, with rides and everything. We were pretty impressed that such a little town could put together such a big event. But a day on the lake, playing in the water, sounds like more fun if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteBut the BIG question is - Did Chance get a Hot Dog?
Kisses,
Emma Rose
Great pictures and perfect weather! Chance is such a cutie! Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteBoy, that is a lot of people! A friend and I rode our bikes to nearby lake. It was busy but not like that. It was a hot one for bike riding but we had fun anyway and there was ice cream to be had afterward.
ReplyDeleteI had forgotten about the trips to the islands where everyone packs their boats in likes sardines. It feels great to just be near or in the water at that temp.
