Before we called it Memorial Day..it was Decoration Day. It was always May 30th and it began in the South with women decorating the graves of those soldiers that died during the civil war.
It should always be the day that we pause to think about all the soldiers that died during their service to our country:)
We have a Rememberance day here in Canada in Nov that we all take to remember the soldiers that fought and are still fighting for our country !
ReplyDeleteBless them all !
Great Header and post.

It stirs my heart to see those flags flying, and yes, I said prayers of thanks to all those who serve and have served our country in uniform.
ReplyDeleteMy father-in-law - who has since 'passed' - - was one of the WWII Veterans. He was fortunate to come home but ended up with a back injury that plagued him the rest of his life. We are indeed blessed to live in this great country.
ReplyDeleteWe all need to take some time to remember.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, your header is so fitting.
ReplyDeleteGreat header. It is a good day to pause and remember and not to take anything about freedom for granted.
