The Buttercups are blooming right on schedule. They must bloom when the hours of daylight are just right.
The water in this shallow area is always a little rusty looking.
This is a little creek that seems to comes out of nowhere. I am sure it originates at Zauche’s/Chilton lake and flows east.
There is finally some green to feast your eyes on. Jo next door has even mowed her lawn. She is an over achiever.
Far Guy needed some help organizing his workshop/greenhouse yesterday. He really needs to build another workbench in his garage..I have encouraged him to do so. I sucked all the leaves out of my garage with the leaf sucker upper. Far Guy moved most of the patio furniture outside. Someone (not me) moved the snow shovel away from the front door. Spring must finally be here..the seventh month of winter must be over..maybe:)
Yes, it is a sure sign that when the shovel has finally been returned to the shed that it is spring. I had mine leaning out there and just moved it on Friday. I still have a snow sled as decoration leaning next to the front door. We are cold again but no snow anyway.
ReplyDeleteThe seventh month of rain in the PNW is not over yet. I see that SeaTac (the Seattle Tacoma airport) had a record rainfall yesterday. I guess the weather has been pretty awful everywhere, so I'm just grateful that ours isn't worse.
ReplyDeleteYup spring is here full force now, Papa has cut the grass twice already. Lovely photos, I love buttercup flowers and wild flowers. Papa is still collecting his tools for his wood work shop Machine tools that is and is organizing the shop. He will be busy this year building and making all kinds of things I cant wait. My potting shed houses all the bird foods and my small garden things I love it! Have a great day !
ReplyDeleteYes, finally. You guys are going to have to move to the Okanagan, it's only winter there for 6 months. It will be like living in paradise.

Hoping you're right. It's been a loooooooong one.
ReplyDeleteGACK! 7 Months of winter, I would be buried under the snow. We still have snow in the high country....Cresed Butte, Gunnison, Craig...they are worring about floods.
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't one thing....

Oh, it's really starting to look green!
ReplyDeleteWe have buttercups, but a different variety to yours, and they aren't blooming yet.
Just weird weather everywhere...brush fires in Northern Alberta, with half of a town burnt, and floods in Manitoba, and us just drowning in rain.
But...apparently this is the worst day of the week, with almost summer like weather coming in a few days.
It has got to be nice to see the greenery coming and that seventh month of winter over ;) I love that first picture, soooo greeeen!
ReplyDeleteOh I just love that creek photo! Makes me hear the birds singing.
ReplyDeleteLaughing about the snow shovel! I know how you feel. We are supposed to get rain/snow showers on Wednesday and Thursday. But, at this point I'll take any moisture I can get!
ReplyDeleteI just did some of these jobs the other day. The snow shovell moving is amusing because we will certainly get more snow. It might be warm enough that I won't have to shovel it.
ReplyDeleteHurray for greenery and small flowers! Let's hope spring is here to stay this time!
ReplyDeleteMy wrens arrived yesterday and my lawn needs mowed, I sucked the leaves from the bottom of the screen on the deck........we're going neck and neck where spring is concerned by the looks of it. I have to BUY those buttercups so your one up on me;)
ReplyDeleteI hope your winter is over by all means. I know it is such a happy thing to finally see green here and there. It won't take long for everything to be green now. I wish I knew what to do about that bush. Maybe add some fresh soil around it and some Miracle Gro.
ReplyDeleteYour buttercup looks delightful, we have Ranunculus repens and it is prolific and hard to pull, one of the few weeds that I can't find a reason to like.
ReplyDeleteSo do you like your leaf sucker? I've been contemplating getting one, mostly for cleaning up my exhibit area when we go to fairs but also for around the house.
grew up with buttercups all over our meadows. we had some lowland that was quite marshy.
