At the PowWow on Saturday night, I observed one of the smallest dancers. I am not sure if this reluctant dancer is a little boy or a little girl. The first time they danced around the circle was fine and dandy. Note the Spiderman slippers..too cute!
Then he/she pitched a fit. It was a total meltdown. The parent in me was embarrassed for the Dad, the Grandmother in me was just charmed by a child showing his/her true feelings.
The Dad was patient.
The dance continued:)
Oh how cute to have caught that on pics. It was probably a long day for that small child.
ReplyDeleteIt's so difficult when they get tired...
ReplyDeleteThat is the cutest little Pow-Wower I've ever laid eyes on. How sweet is that! I can't imagine what a day it was for that little one, I'd probably have myself a meltdown too! Heeeheheh!
ReplyDeleteHave a terrific day Connie!
Isn't it funny how our view of childlike behavior shifts when we become grandparents? And not just for our own g-kids....

ReplyDeleteThanks for the wonderful Pow Wow pictures. The Cherokee from this area host an inter-tribal Pow Wow every year but it is very far away indeed. Our son and I went once. We loved it. Especially the dance honoring the military veterans.
ReplyDeleteThe grandmother in us will come out ever time.

Connie, oh, am I ever glad I stopped by today. This little pictorial story is truly priceless. I didn't see any meltdowns at the powwow I attended back in July, but this brought back wonderful memories of that day. I think it's a little boy, based on the regalia, which is similar to his father's.
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love patient dads who truly take care of their children...wonderful pictures!
