I can picture FarGuy unhooking himself and sneaking back to re-hook--LOL! We got off the party line because of a rude lady (!) and got 5585.<br />When I moved to Russell, KS, we had 1639 J, 1014 Y and the airport was 1140. I worked at the phone company there and the little pins around the spots where we placed the plugs were color coded: J was red; Y was white. Corresponding buttons on the console rang that number on the party line. Good old days! The country lines had metal drops and when there was lightning, they all dropped at once. We had a dry paint brush to push them back up.marluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15933107449114317646noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456722259350114571.post-27587455063063649282015-02-18T14:29:12.531-06:002015-02-18T14:29:12.531-06:00Love the old photo! Have you started to negotiate the quagmire that is Part D of Medicare? Good luck with that. I could rant on Part D for a while but won't. I grew up in Los Angeles, so we always had long phone numbers, but in the beginning, there were letter prefixes for two of the numbers and ours was "DA" for "Davis". When we first moved here and for quite a few years after (until 911 came in) , it was only necessary dial the last four numbers -- even now when I provide our land line phone number I usually just say the last four digits.Leilani Schuck Weatheringtonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04517660684870960794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456722259350114571.post-171248478169567722015-02-18T10:21:06.479-06:002015-02-18T10:21:06.479-06:00What a cute picture!
