The table was large and had a worn, red top that had a chip at one end. The chairs were hard and had been recovered in elephant hide. The table was dismantled and stored in the loft of the barn in the 60s and replaced with a new oak set. The old chairs were brought out when more seating was needed at the table. What a sight - heavy oak chairs and chrome-legged elephant hide chairs side by side.
