Blanket Flowers

The Gaillardia or Blanket Flowers join the Daisies in bloom in the Wild Gardens.

They reseed freely.

They even grow on the sandy area where the big greenhouse was once upon a time.

I mowed some more yesterday...I am done for a few days now.

What's Cooking?  Freezer meals...Spaghetti for Far Guy and Vegetable Beef Soup for me.

Minnesota Weather: After Supper it was stormy.  High was 89F or 32C  Low was 65F or 18C.

Far Guy is gaining a bit of strength every day, yesterday he sat outside a bit.

  3. Hmm. Maybe I need to give Gaillardia another try. They did not do so great at my last home (clay soil). Don't think they ever made it through a Winter and never reseeded.

Are your blanket flowers growing where you control burn? They are super pretty!!

    1. No we have not burned the wild gardens in a number of years. They seem to just grow where they want:)

  4. Your wildflower garden is wonderful. Here Gaillardias are plants you buy in a nursery,
    Good news about FG.

  6. I love those orange and red flowers - - so pretty and happy looking.
Hooray again for freezer meals! Best ones out there.
Sorry I have missed commenting for about a week. We got busy helping one of our girls with her pets while she was on vacation. Then we had chiropractor appts, etc etc. It is amazing how much the chiropractor has helped both of us. My adjustments were lesser than my husband's - - - and I am NOT waking up at night now with foot pain in the toe joint and also in the base of my spine. Between the PT and daily exercises, this third thing has been the final thing that my body needed.
I am soooooo very sorry for the issues you are dealing with. Auto-immune is horrible because it is like dominoes - - - always knocking another good function to the ground. Praying for you sweet woman!
Very thankful that FG is improving once again. As I have probably said before, he is like a Timex watch that takes a licking' and keeps on ticking' !!!!!

  10. LD...As with a lot of things, mine died. I like it and it should be easy to grow. I quit replacing it. The meadow looks good.
