A finish

I finally finished the afghan that has been in the works for a just about a year. I started it in June of 2025.

The back is just about as pretty as the front.  The pattern is Apache Tears and I used a 3.5 hook and all different colors of yarn.   It is good to have it done.

We had a quiet day on Wednesday.  Far Guy worked in his garage.  I did some laundry and all kind of misc things...not much that shows.  I picked up some sticks in the yard and soaked up some sunshine while reading a book.

We had leftovers for supper. No cooking just warming up!

Minnesota weather: High 67F or 19C  Low was 40F or 4C.

  3. I've made one of the Apache Tears blankets too! I was curious how you handled your ends. Is it an envelope edge? I was thankful once I was finished with this one also. A lot of work goes into an Apache Tears blanket but it turns out so beautiful! Yours is very nice on both sides and a good way to use up extra yarn.

    1. Hi Kathy, Yes it is an envelope border that enclose all the ends!

  5. I like the way you phrased that - - 'all kind of misc things - - - - not much that shows'. That describes a lot of my days. It is frustrating some times. I told someone yesterday that IF I had a cook, a house cleaning person, and a secretary - - - I could actually accomplish a lot! LOL. It would be stuff I want to spend time doing. Oh well - - very thankful to still be upright and able to keep going.

  11. I love the bright colors.
We had winter here the last two days, rain and the highs in the low 40's. Today will begin a gradual warm up to low to mid 50's. The mountain passes were closed due to heavy snow. Fickle April.

  12. That brings back memories! My mom made one like it when I was a kid! I can still remember how heavy and warm it was! It was great for curling up with and watching a movie!

  13. Your afghan is beautiful. Please send some sunshine this way. We are so sick of rain and floods.

  14. I have never done the Apache Tears pattern and you do it beautifully. I putzed around the condo yesterday while Dennis was volunteering at the food bank and it doesn't look like I did a thing.
    Blessings and hugs,
