what to cook?

 That is a daily question.

Today I am cooking.  Pork roast, mashed potatoes, gluten free gravy and baked carrots.

If I had more energy I would make a dessert.

We had an adventure yesterday...a trip to an antique shop that was stuffed to the gills with "stuff".  I did not buy a thing.  However I did see some cute signs.

  1. I don’t cook a lot and sure don’t miss the task.

My sister loves going to junk stores. I gave that up long ago. It’s Astrid’s favorite thing to do. She likes vintage things and her house is decorated that style. I used to love older things too. But I have too many things!!

  2. We have this conversation quite often. Some weeks Barb prepares a menu, some weeks we just wing it and have to think of something every day.

  3. That is a great sign. I've reached a point where I really do not enjoy cooking any more. But I do enjoy eating, so guess I'll just have to deal with it. LOL

  5. Cute sign!
I've convinced my daughter to plan meals for a week at a time. It's a basic menu: pasta night, breakfast for dinner, pizza, Sunday dinner, leftovers, etc. Plus she's supposed to keep the freezer inventoried so we don't throw a lot of things out. The latter part isn't working as well as the former. ;)

  6. I love to cook, but my inspiration has evaporated. I have beef stew meat in the crock pot with some beef broth. I guess noodles?

  7. You can spend hours on these shops just looking at stuff.

  9. I miss being asked and asking that question, and the ensuing discussion!

  10. Antique shops are fun, but we stopped going because it is hard not to buy anything, and we are way past the accumulation stage.
I read today that cooking from scratch improves brain health. :-)

  12. LD....We have a large antique store in our city but have never been there. One of us isn't so interested in old things. I have too many collections anyway.
