Eye report

Lots of drops! Far Guy had cataract surgery on Monday. He is doing just fine…he reports that some colors are surprising.

  1. So that's behind me, now I'm using a lot of eye drops. After my surgery, I saw much more clearly. But I couldn't get rid of my glasses.

  2. I agree with him! The difference in how I saw colors was amazing!

  3. When cataracts are removed, which makes things yellowish, the bright blues are amazing. Had mine done last year. Kris in Ohio.

  4. I don't know if the Far Guy was nervous, but I was stunned at how painless the procedure was! They did give me a valium before the surgery which did not take effect until I got home, then I slept for five hours, lol. But zero pain, zillions of drops.

  6. I’ll be glad when it’s my turn for this. Fleta said it is amazing. The drops are just temporary! FG can see how beautiful you are without glasses!

  7. I was shocked at how much brighter and clearer that colors suddenly were after cataract removal. Glad it went well for him.

  8. All the best to Far Guy in his recovery. We are on Day 6 of the drops. I've got the drops counted...263!

  9. It is a surgery with amazing instant results - - and no pain during and after! It is like a miracle with the difference in sight. I still wear glasses but part of my reason is astigmatism. Plus I can see to drive again at night if I have to do that.

  10. I'm glad it's behind him now. And yes, the eye drops are important... but wow, isn’t it amazing to see colours again after such an surgery? My husband said the same; it felt as if a whole new world had opened up. I wish him a smooth and steady recovery.

  13. My BIL had such great results as well so I went into it thinking that would be my experience but sadly it was not to be. It didn't make any difference. Now I ask myself if the surgery was even really necessary in my case. I'm glad it has been successful for FG.

  14. Glad to hear this surgery went well. He's certainly had more than his share of surgeries!

  15. Excellent! Mom had both her eyes done (I think a month or two apart) and she said it's one of the best things she's ever done! Cataracts run in our family so I'm sure I'll be having mine done in the next 20 years or so!

  16. Oh I remember that eye shield! It was rather annoying. I am sure he will be thankful when all the drops are over and done with.

  18. LD....My wife had those also with her surgery. She loves it but has a problem, so has to wear glasses. She can see great long distances.
