Blooms

In warmer climates..they have blooms.  Photo from my sister.

We will have blooms in a couple of months.  After all it is Minnesota...my Dad used to say that over his years he witnessed snow in Minnesota every month of the year.  I wish I could recall what years he said...but I cannot.

Minnesota weather: Sunny!  high 48F or 9C low was 25F or -4C eh!

We had a quiet day on Saturday.  Far Guy did some woodcarving.  I did some laundry and crocheting.

I made potato salad and Andy grilled steaks so it was almost a Summertime meal.  And it was delicious!

Saturday evening they are all watching hockey, I will join them for a bit...hockey is ok ...I can watch a bit and no one gets upset if I ask dumb questions!  Then I will escape to read:)

  1. In my decade that I lived up in Minnesota, I definitely say snow a couple times in May and as early as late September but I guess I don't recall any in June, July and August. At least in flake form. It did sometimes come down in hail form.

  2. I'm the first to comment on this Sunday morning because I awoke at #:30 and can't get back to sleep. After almost an hour I gave up.
    I like quiet days.
I will be meeting with my sister, daughter and niece today at 1:00. Tom and I have no plans for this evening. I just know I won't be cooking. I think the rain is returning today.

  6. My dad had a saying about Montana weather that seems applicable to the freezer you live in:

We have 2 season, July-August and Winter

  7. Don't you wish that you had written down even a few of the things your parents used to say. I think about this often, as both my mom and dad had many sayings for which I wish I could remember. Is that Mexican petunias blooming?

  9. Not sure I've seen snow here in SD in all 12 months. But I have seen it in early June in the Black Hills, and late September right here. It melted right away but it did snow. My dad used to say Minnesota had 2 seasons - winter and road construction.

  13. My Dad was a great one for keeping stats on the weather. I don't think Manitoba had snow in every month but probably in 10 of them. ( That's one reason I didn't stay there).

  14. So you're watching hockey and we're watching the basketball tournament that's on. I prefer football myself, but it's not football time yet and since we are finally getting to Spring, I will enjoy baseball for the next six months or so. Take good care, you guys.
