Tiny House

Far Guy and Jen have been working on a tiny model house.  It has hours and hours of work.

It has lights and everything!  I love the little porch swing on the upper deck.

I asked how they would dust it???

They have been working on it while I have been sorting photos.  The big sort has expanded...I ran into a bunch of photos of the Grands so those are being added to their photo albums.  One Grand album done and four to go.  Progress is slow.  When I get all five albums done I can resume the big sort!  Decades will be sorted into years in chronological order...COD you know.

I had a PT appointment yesterday.  We have a weather system moving in and I can sure tell it.  I had to have a morning rest yesterday....usually I do not lay down in the morning...laying down with a hot rice bag eliminates my pain.

Minnesota weather: High 12F or -11C  Low was 8F or -13C.  It cooled off before the stormy weather moves in on Thursday.

Supper: BLT's.

  1. When my eldest was getting to the right age, I decided to build her a doll house completely from scratch with all the accoutrements one needs. I spent the better part of a year building that thing and I think she played with it for all of a couple hours. But I enjoyed the fiddly work of making things which I'm sure was the joy for Far Guy as well. P.S. Mine didn't look half as good as the one above.

  3. What a beautiful house it has become.
Maybe dust it with a hairdryer?
I wish you many wonderful memories while sorting through the photos.

  4. I'm so far behind on my scrapbooks that it's overwhelming to even think about. I'm in awe that you're tackling this project. The tiny house is adorable! I'm in love (but also wonder about dusting/cobwebs :) )

  6. This tiny house... ADORABLE!! Lights, swings, the whole works. If only I could squeeze into this place, I would sure enjoy visiting. The weather can sure alert our bodies when a storm is coming in. glad you were able to get the rest though. I need to go through my tubs of photos, but just haven't found the energy... maybe soon..

  7. Wow! The detail in that tiny house is amazing. The fact that it has lights and all of the incredible furniture and decor will make it very enticing for little fingers. Though I don't imagine it is meant to be played with?
    Take care!

  9. That tiny house is truly amazing!! Wow! Was it a kit or did they just design it all from scratch? I've been feeling those weather changes too - achy knees.

  10. We are sure getting a wintery blast today. High winds, blowing snow, RAPIDLY plummeting temperatures. Welcome to January eh? I'm going to do genealogy all afternoon.

  12. Oh my! That little house is a work of art! I love it. It's much fancier than the one my mother-in-law made years ago, that we inherited, and is now stored away. I don't know what it's fate will be. And yes, dusting it was a pain. so mostly I didn't.

  14. I've wanted to make one of those, but I know it would be way to tedious of for me. I love seeing this one.

  17. Wow! I’ve always loved miniatures and that house is exceptional inside and out. I’m in awe. And, please take care of yourself. Glad that a nap with the rice bag helps. I’d be very challenged with your weather especially the cold. Have a good weekend ahead.

  20. I am sorry I am not the only one knowing weather changes - - - to the point I will wake up in the middle of the night - - or cannot stay awake during the day. Other physical discomforts/pain accompany those things.
The dollhouse is GORGEOUS! You all have done a FABULOUS job. It is obvious it took a lot of hours but it is done to perfection.
Years ago, someone gave one to our public library. There is a volunteer who changes the decor each month. People look forward to seeing what it done. All ages are fascinated by it.

  21. I agree with you on how to dust that- I would say put a glass or plexi cover over it, maybe even make it into a glass enclosed end table or top of a book case.
    It's so cute!
