I finished water color cards for now and started some stitching around the outside of a dish towel. Had to retrain my brain it has been a while since I have done hand stitching.
I was struggling with it so much it exhausted me so I had a little nap and when I woke up I remembered how to do it. Perhaps I dreamt about it. Will wonders never cease.
I went to PT on Monday then we went to the grocery store.
Andy made supper...ribs, potatoes and corn...delicious.
Minnesota Weather: High was 10F or -12C Low was -8F or -22C eh! The snow was blowing and drifting some inside town so I imagine it was much worse outside of town. By the weekend we should have nice Winter weather again.
Far Side
When you don't sew every day, you forget...at least I do.
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me! When you step away from a project you tend to see thing more clearly. Glad you figured it out!
Stay warm up there!
hugs
Donna
Glad you are going to get better weather. Nice stitching by the way. Our weather is not letting up.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the family made it home safely.
ReplyDeleteI used that stitch to close my chair pads last week. I remember my mom teaching me how to do it.
I tried the stitching.i I’ll just say, mine doesn’t look like Momma’s. Yours looks good. We’re warmer than you but not above freezing. Still miserable. Glad your kids are home with you.
ReplyDeleteLogan and Astrid’s carport collapsed on their new tractor and camper. They have insurance but what a mess. At least your country is better prepared than we are.
I wish Andy could come cook for us!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is the story with Miss Merry and french knots. I have do billions mindlessly but how to start? Remembering how to do them? I will confess I have resorted to Youtube videos with step by step visual instructions.
ReplyDeleteI sure admire how you keep busy with all kinds of hobbies and such. That nap is all you needed to refresh your brain.
ReplyDeleteMy hands don't work well enough to do hand stitching anymore. I am just hoping I can remember how to use my sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear the weather there will be moderating there.
It's almost as cold here. Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWe actually have sunshine and a bit warmer in the teens today. I think you're towel is looking good. The stitches look really evenly spaced. We had roast for dinner last night with potatoes, carrots and onions. Tonight will be leftovers of fried hash. Yum. We both think it's even better than the original roast and look forward to it.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Oh Good, You'll go back to usual winter weather. That's what's happening here too. For us it's back to rain.
ReplyDeleteI smiled at the part about your brain suddenly remembering after a nap — that happens more often than we admit, I think. It’s amazing how the hands remember things we haven’t done in a while. Finishing the watercolor cards and then moving on to stitching sounds like a good creative flow. And that supper sounds wonderful — especially on such a cold day. Those temperatures are seriously winter! I hope the calmer weather this weekend really does bring a bit of relief.
ReplyDeleteBrrr, we would appreciate a return to usual winter weather, at least the weather of the last couple of years. My late mother did beautiful hand stitching but I never got the hang of it. I agree, use a skill, or lose it. Doesn't surprise me that knowing how came back in a dream.
ReplyDeleteIt takes patience to do the small stitching.
ReplyDeleteSure looking forward to the warmup. It looks like it will be sunny too!
ReplyDeleteHaving projects in the cold weather is a good thing- and so are naps!
