Goodbye January

I saw my Rheumatologist on Friday.  He said " I can do nothing for you, I think you have Chronic Pain Syndrome."  He is tapering me off of the daily prednisone dose and I should be seen at the Pain Clinic.  Alrighty then.

Far Guy had his infusion appointment...while he was there I picked up groceries at Wally World and then stopped by Aldi to get fruit.  I had a very long nap in the afternoon.

Not much progress on my various projects.

Today we say goodbye to January...perhaps February will be better!

Far Guy will have his Thyroid Biopsy in February...nothing heard about his other appointments...stress test and echocardiogram.

Supper was leftovers...all good.

Minnesota weather: High 4F or -16C  Low was -14F or -26C.  We have a Winter weather advisory until noon Sunday.

Far Side

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON SATURDAY TO NOON CST SUNDAY... * WHAT...Mixed precipitation and areas of blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches and locally up to 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Portions of northwest and west central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota. * WHEN...From noon Saturday to noon CST Sunday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. Falling and blowing snow will lead to areas of quick and sudden reductions to visibility, making travel difficult, especially in rural areas that are prone to blowing snow.

  1. Words that you never want to hear coming from your doctor are "I can do nothing for you!" so sorry that you deal with this pain Connie. Both you and Gar Guy are on my prayer list not only for your health, but for your bodies dealing with such a cold winter. big hugs coming your way..

  2. Oh I am sorry Connie. Being told by a doctor that there is nothing they can do to help you sucks.

I was told that after a year long chronic respiratory situation. Pissed me off. I could think of numerous things that had not been tried, but didn't want to deal with the unhelpful Dr any longer. Frustrated, I turned to alternative care. It took a while, but it worked and made me a believer.

Keep advocating for your health and looking for helpful responses.

  3. Well bummer! I don't think I would like your rheumatologist much. I hope the pain clinic can help you out.

  7. Things including weather sounds bleak. If weather could improve I think all our hopes would rise.

  8. Having lived with RA for 29 years now (and not knowing all your medication history), I have to say the latest drug I've been taking is a blessing. It's Orencia, given in infusions or ClickJet weekly self-injections. Praying for some pain relief . . . no one know if they haven't been there!

    1. Yes I had an allergic reaction to it. I have tried most all of the biologics.

  10. Yes, no fun being told "I can't help you". I've met that beast. But you have chronic pain and you need help. Hopefully that will come.

  14. I'm so over winter and ours hasn't been nearly as bad as most have had. Just cold. The older I get, the less I can deal with the cold.
    Blessings and hugs,
    Betsy
