Tucked into a Christmas Card was a wonderful surprise!
An Origami Crane! Just perfect! Thank you Larry! I have been following his blog a number of years:)We went out one evening to see "the lights" the Lions in Grand Forks North Dakota do a bang up job with the display every year.
Monday we had two appointments. I had to renew my military ID because it was expiring...now I have an Indefinite one. Far Guy saw his Pulmonary Doctor and she is pleased with how well he is doing. Keeping our fingers and toes crossed that he escapes the flu or any such germs.
Three more medical appointment round out our week. Will it ever end? I see my worthless Rheumatologist on Wednesday.
Andy is on Christmas break and he is a much better cook than I am! Last night we had twice baked potatoes, chili and fruit. He already has Tuesday nights meal planned and the meat is being sous vide.
( cooked at a very low temperature in a special container that holds water)
Minnesota weather; Monday it was sunny and the sundogs were out again.High was 5F or -15C low was 2F or -17C eh! Tuesday we may get above freezing!!!
Far Side
Sounds like Andy is a chef. You reap the rewards. The crane is a special work of art.
ReplyDeleteI dread one appointment. You are a marathoner.
The crane is very pretty! I'm so amazed at people's ability to do origami well. I hope your appointments all go well, and it's good news that your husband's lungs are doing OK. My daughter (respiratory therapist) says the flu season has really just ramped up here and the hospital is very busy.
ReplyDeletePretty crane. I'm always impressed with the art of origami.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the remaining appointments.
Hang in there and hopefully the Rheumatologist figures something out. Though from what I understand no one really understands how the body works against itself, so they are pretty much guessing.
ReplyDeleteI think the lights are my favourite thing about this time of year!
ReplyDeleteThis is a thoughtful gift. Good news for FG, hopefully more good news to come.
ReplyDeleteCan Andy come cook for us? I need to learn to make meat that way. How do I begin?
ReplyDeleteResearch I guess and buying equipment!
DeleteWe're home and back full speed. Dennis is volunteering today. I've been running errands, we're having guests for dinner and I have no idea what to do for dessert. My colonscopy is scheduled for Friday, (what a way to start the year!), and we have to get our drivers license renewed by Monday because of Dennis's birthday. That's what we get for being gone for over 2 weeks. Ha!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and love,
Betsy
I love twice baked potatoes!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check out Larry's blog. What a fun surprise.
ReplyDeleteThe paper crane is such a fun surprise!
ReplyDeleteThe Christmas lights are beautiful. Glad you're getting through your appts. Wasn't that crane a fancy surprise in your card! Your dinners always sound good to me. Take good care you two. Don't get too wild tomorrow night! diane in northern wis
ReplyDeleteLD...We have a very rich friend who hired a limo to go out to see the lights with grand kids. We don't have to deal with her anymore. I finally got a GP after a few years without and it is a good thing. Well it is a good thing but I don't like what he finds wrong. The cranes are magical and I am working on a plan for what I am going to do when I reach 1,000 foldings.
