In the yarn store...they were having a sale! I went in for four skeins and came out with ten. Uffda.
Here is the green and white to make Hey Mikey a scarf with fringes.
I might have enough yarn for a few days.
A while back Jen mumbled something about...okay now are you hoarding yarn at my house too? Hoarding is such a harsh word...collecting sounds better.
More of that white stuff in the air yesterday...and it is much colder than it was. Dreary November day here in Minnesota. High of 32F or 0C eh!
Far Side
Yes, shops like that are also dangerous for my wallet.
ReplyDeleteNothing whimsical in the air here, but lots of leaves.
Good luck with all the appointments again this week.
I like your take on acquiring yarn. For me it's fabric!
ReplyDeleteI have also been told I am a collector :)
ReplyDeleteI like the word "collecting" much better too. It's critical to NOT run out of yarn. The kids will love what you knit or crochet for them. My grandmother loved to knit, and would get quite upset when her yarn stash would get a little low. With 16 grandkids, she could make endless mittens, hats, scarves, and sweaters. I actually still have a couple of pair of mittens she made. And I have 2 cardigan sweater she knit for my dad in her final years. All still very wearable, and the sweaters fit me as my dad was a small guy.
ReplyDeleteWe've had snow at home too, but it's warming up today and it should disappear quickly. Hope yours doesn't last either.
ReplyDeletePoor Far Guy, he's sure gone through a lot this year. Good luck with the remaining radiation treatments.
Collecting, I like that idea rather than hoarding. Besides you are using up the yarn with the requests from the great grands. :)
Our first snow started last night and is still continuing.
ReplyDeleteI agree, hoarding is such a harsh word! :-) She should see my yarn wall. I'm glad you were able to stock up. Those snowy days will be easier to handle with yarn in the house.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Connie’s motto is be prepared!
ReplyDeleteSo I won’t get bored
With feelings real low,
I’ve going to hoard
And prepare for snow.
I can always crochet
If I fill up the barn
With no bales of hay
But big skeins of yarn!
I LOVE this! I hope Jen sees it and frames it!
DeleteWith bad weather coming you need something to do, so buy more wool.
ReplyDeleteIt turned white here overnight, too. A yarn sale is nothing to sneeze at! I can't wait to see Mikey's project.
ReplyDeleteHording!?! What's hording? I Understand Collecting much better. But HORDING----?!?
ReplyDeleteWe are getting lake effect snow right now - could be over five inches by the time its done. Not bad for the first snow of the year!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are a wonderful collector, lol. Stay warm up there!
ReplyDeleteYou aren't hoarding and we know she was teasing. You are giving the grandchildren color options!
ReplyDeleteWe have actually had flurries today - - - nothing sticking but just tiny flakes that you have to have good vision to be able to see.
At our age, why not go crazy?
ReplyDeleteI see that you bought the yarn, so does that mean you are remembering how to knit?
ReplyDeleteYes I bought yarn for mittens and will attempt to knit some, it will be an adventure!
DeleteAs fast as you go through it, I don't think you are safely "hoarding" enough! :-D
ReplyDeleteWell, if it is on sale, you probably need it!
ReplyDeleteYou are a collector of supplies...yes! A collector sounds so much better. ;)
