The Cancer Center is across town. It is about a ten minute drive unless I hit all the traffic lights wrong then it takes a bit longer. There is a marvelous volunteer there who greets people, answers questions and helps those who need help. This week they still have Valet Service so I use it. Far Guy says the girls who do the radiation are very nice. Yesterday was number 13 out of 20! As of Thursday morning 7 medical appointments have been completed, 4 to go for a total of 11 for the week.
They have a puzzle in the waiting area of the Cancer Center.
It is a rainy dismal grey day here. I did some online ordering...a yarn that was discontinued and groceries to pick up.
Minnesota weather; rainy almost all day. High was 44F or 7C and the low was 33F or 1C eh!
Jen cooked supper ...it was ham, egg and cheese on a English muffin and fruit.
Far Side
Raining here this morning. I hope today is a good day for you and FG.
ReplyDeleteWhen we visited the UW Cancer Center Radiation Department, it was a rather pleasant place with all sorts of snacks and a variety of coffees for those folks waiting on those getting treatment. Those folks were so kind. They called Rich, Mr. Hollywood because he always dressed up in his most colorful cowboy shirts and wore his sunglasses indoors like he was some sort of movie star.
ReplyDeleteHe told the radiologist techs all about our mules and horses and on the last day I presented them with a collage I made of all our pretty equine.
We met some very interesting folks in the waiting room too.
For the reason folks were there, most were upbeat and so nice.
Your weather sounds like ours. That is great they have a puzzle in the waiting room. I do love that box holder that is in the photo.
ReplyDeleteI think about you and your family every day.
ReplyDeleteYay for making progress on those cancer appointments. We will all be glad when they are done.
ReplyDeleteEleven appointments, oh my. I hope they all go well. It may not seem that way to Far Guy but the treatments are certainly happening quickly.
ReplyDeleteCool weather here in the desert too (for the area), just 52F this morning, with a high expected of 68F this afternoon. I had to pull out long pants. :)
A puzzle in a waiting room is a great idea. Although I guess it could be a way to spread germs - I guess it would depend what sort of waiting room. I had to wait about 40 minutes for my appt yesterday. When I came out there were some folks who came in at about the same time that were still waiting. I guess I was lucky!
ReplyDeleteFar guy is in the homestretch! A puzzle in the waiting room is such a great idea. I think all waiting rooms should have one.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are headed to the finish line. You know, there isn't a competition for who can have the most doctor appointments, just kidding. I admire how you both are handling all you have been going through.
ReplyDeleteBreakfast for dinner is one of my favorites! I think that puzzle is a great idea. I usually have my knitting, but a puzzle would be a good distraction too. It's a foggy, gray, dismal day here today too. Chilly too. I guess winter is trying to get serious.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
It's a wee bit cooler here, but thankfully we are avoiding the rain. I went shopping with my daughter today, but tucking up until Sunday now, when I will take my elderly neighbour to church.
ReplyDeleteA jigsaw puzzle in the waiting room is a fantastic idea! Blessings.
ReplyDeleteI hope 11 appointments in one day is a record that won't be broken.
ReplyDeleteWe had sunshine and low 50's here but rain is returning soon.
Your supper sounds good. Glad far guy is using up all his radiation appointments. Glad the people at the cancer center are nice and helpful, and that you are using their valet service. Take good care until tomorrow!!! diane in northern wis
ReplyDeleteThat's quite a puzzle. Great idea especially if you forget to bring a book ( or some knitting).
ReplyDeleteHopefully we'll never need it but our cancer centre is sp close by, almost across the street from us.
tHAT LOOKS LIKE A NICE EASY PUZZLE. I'll bet Far Guy is looking forward to the end of the treatments.
ReplyDeleteYum to the egg sandwich! I have a friend that recently completed his radiation treatments, and he was told to park right up front for his treatments. Maybe ask about this? Dee
ReplyDeleteNo chance of that happening we are thankful for the Valet Service!
DeleteSounds like things are moving along. The valet service is so useful and helpful, we use that also in Duluth for Mom's appointments. Take care.
ReplyDeleteOur cancer clinic had a puzzle in the waiting room until the pandemic, then that was it
ReplyDeleteLD...I am glad you are at the North place and it does make things happen. The radiation is such a good answer and I am sure the count down can't come soon enough.
