Thankful for a day to sleep until 11AM and then shower and relax the rest of the day. We watched a couple of movies. The Last Word and Everybody's Fine the last one is a bit sad.
I was just too tired to venture out for Thanksgiving Dinner with the Grands and Jen and Andy. Paige and Cole hosted this year at their new home. They gave us a video tour. We missed seeing them all.
I made some grilled cheese sandwiches and peaches for supper...easy peasy. Sadie was happy for the company...but she slept most of the day.
My sister sent a photo of the Headwaters of the Mississippi at Itasca State Park a photo she took last Sunday. I am sure it looks different now after the snow.

That photo is of a beautiful place! Good for you all getting a day of rest. You earned it and more! The body needs that recovery time. It is like a holiday or vacation when you don't have to go anywhere.
ReplyDeleteLovely photo!
ReplyDeleteI am not the least bit surprised you were feeling so tired. With all the appointments in the last few weeks, and your concern for Far Guy, I'm sure it's all taken a toll on your well-being.
Take care!
I'm sorry you had to miss Thanksgiving dinner, but sometimes a rest day is even better. That's how I felt about my Thanksgiving Day. I hope you are feeling rested today. Beautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a very peaceful Thanksgiving and a change to catch up on some rest (especially with all these medical appointments). I think the video tour idea was great and I am sure you got to see all the family send you holiday wishes. And that is what it is all about. Hope you can continue your restful weekend before starting the next week of appointments.
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling rested and have more energy after a quiet day. We're anticipating snow starting today. What a beautiful photo of the headwaters. I was there only once. I'm thinking it was about 1967 or 68.
ReplyDeleteErin and family went to the headwaters one year for vacation. They took the motor home and travel from Arkansas up the Mississippi to the head waters. They loved the trip.
ReplyDeleteGood idea to rest up as more appts are coming. Galla Creek
It was just Terry and I. We ate out for lunch, in town. It actually was a rather nice day.
ReplyDeleteYour photo is beautiful! Sorry you missed Thanksgiving dinner, but I hope you had time to relax and rest.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like a day off from appointments and doctors is a rare thing. Good that you could have a break from everything and just stay home and enjoy a simple supper.
ReplyDeleteI slept until 9:30 this morning after only 3 hours the night before. I had so much to do early yesterday morning and went to sleep very late the night before. I guess I was exhausted today. I'm sorry you didn't get to have Thanksgiving dinner but glad that you and Far Guy had a good time together with Sadie.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Sounds like the perfect kind of day. sometimes you just need to take a break and enjoy the rest. Our kiddos just called and wanted us to come out Shanda's this evening and eat pizza and watch the Texas and Texas A & M game, but we decided a nice evening at home is what we needed.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you were thankful to have the choice to be good to yourselves and have a restful day.
ReplyDeleteSorry you didn't feel up to spending Thanksgiving with your family. I hope you are rested up a bit now. Take good care you two. God bless you both. diane in northern wis
ReplyDeleteSomedays we just don't feel up going out and seeing people
ReplyDeleteWow, gorgeous headwaters! MN is such a beautiful State. One of my fav's.
ReplyDeleteIt is okay to take a pass on holiday hoopla. You guys have/had a lot going on.
LD....My Aunt Mary had a story she told everywhere and often about my cousin Mike falling into the Mississippi River right there walking the rocks. She thought it so funny that Mike was all wet and they were crammed into an old car with four adults and three kids, and he was getting everybody wet. I guess one had to be there to find it really funny but I always think of it when I see the headwaters view. Mike is 79 years old now.
