Saturday Stuff

It was an alarming day first thing in the morning, the sump pump alarm was going off so we hollered for help from Andy.  Nothing like being awake at o dark thirty.   I think we are all struggling with the time change...Sadie too.

We relaxed and napped during the day. We watched  the movie Hey God Its me Margaret.  A very enjoyable movie.  Far Guy even laughed a few times.

We need the weekend to rest up for the radiation treatments next week.  Five down fifteen to go.  So far no huge side effects from the radiation, he uses a special radiation cream a number of times during the day.  His Doctor suggested a new med to help with his anxiety...well that was not a good idea because the side effects were horrid.  Hopefully we have him back on track again for a bit with his meds.

I started a new hoodie/ scarf with pockets for Cee Cee...she and her brother both had requests for me. Hey Mikey wants a green and white striped scarf with fringe AND both said make us mittens...so I am going to try to knit some mittens.  It will be an adventure. I have attempted crochet mittens but just don't like how they turn out....so knitting it is....I believe I recall attempting to knit some about 40 years ago.

Here is a photo of Sadie...I played with removing the background...as the other three people in the photo were not looking at me.

As you can see she is one beauty of a dog!

As we made supper...Tacos and Far Guy's Italian Sausage, Chili with no beans, philly cream cheese and velveeta cheese dip  we noticed strange white things in the air outside floating past the windows.

  2. We have snow! Not enough to plow, but it is enough to leave tracks in.
The Sump Pump alarm must have been a great ... not so great thing to wake up to!

  6. May this coming week be less problematic for FG.

Mittens, ugh!! I knitted one navy blue mitten back in my Girl Scout youth days. One. Pretty sure was that was the reason I never got into knitting/crocheting lol.

  7. Yikes, I am glad you have Handy Andy at the ready! Gosh, 1/4 of the way done. He is doing so good. We haven't adjusted from the time change either. Why can't they just pick a time and keep it.

  8. Snow already?! Sadie is absolutely gorgeous. I'm so glad to hear Far Guy isn't having any bad side effects from the treatments. Good luck with your knitting adventures. Have a beautiful Sunday. Hugs!

  9. We got about 3" of wet heavy snow yesterday, but it will melt quickly in the next day or so. When the side effects are worse than the symptoms the drug is trying to suppress, then it's hardly worth taking is it? Hope things continue to go well. I still have a couple of pair of knitted mittens that my grandmother made for me about 60 years ago. And I still wear them occasionally which is hard to believe.

  10. When my mom was going through this and was beset with a lot of anxiety, she had someone fetch her some CBD oil from the Colorado area which helped considerably with her anxiety.

  12. A lot going on in your life. I hope the sump pump alarm was nothing serious.
Here's to success with the radiation. It's certainly not for the weak. Thank goodness he has you by his side. Imagine taking that journey alone.
    Sadie is a beauty!
Snow predicted here in some parts of the state but I doubt we will see any. Which is okay with me. I'm still wearing sandals! I guess that will end tonight as we dip into the 20s.

  13. You did a great job of removing the background around your beautiful faithful friend!
I love that the grands know you can create anything. They will be wrapped in love whenever they are wearing their scarves and mittens.
Sounds like good eating again! IF you run out of menu ideas - - - which you probably won't - - - you probably have last year's meals at Jen's on your blog. You can start a 'wish list' of culinary offerings.

  17. We had snow spitting at us on the way to church and on the way home but thankfully it didn't stick. It was only 224F and I didn't like that either. :-)
Sorry about the alarm and Far Guys new med. Neither one are fun times. But, the picture of Sadie is beautiful. She seems like such a great dog, probably much better behaved than our Zoey. She's pretty good except the barking. Small dog syndrome I guess.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
