Bits and pieces

I have been trying to use up bits and pieces of yarn.  I started this project last Spring and I work on it in the evenings when I watch TV.  It is coming along but still has a long way to go.

Usually I can eyeball the balls that will make a row but sometimes I have to join the ends or give up and throw the yarn away...gasp!!.

As you can see it makes for some colorful stitches.  Each row is a different color...I took the photo cattywhampus just to confuse you.

  2. I like the look. Do you have a link to the pattern. I might try to use up some of my bits and pieces this winter.

  3. I like wild colors like that. My grandmother used to make me blankets and afghans out of her leftovers so I could enjoy the wild colors.

I like how each row has its own colour — it already feels like a blanket full of little memories.
And your “cattywhampus” photo made me smile.
It’s such a happy kind of chaos! Hope you’re enjoying those quiet evenings — they sound wonderful.

  6. A few old farmers took leftover scraps of twine and wrapped them into a ball that eventually set records like the one in Darwin, Minnesota. Perhaps you should go for the largest ball of yarn!

  12. LD....It is a masterpiece. It looks so good and you feel good using up all the loose ends. Some people would probably want to copy the look with new yarn.
