Book Club 2025: September

For book club this month we read The River We Remember by William Kent Krueger.  All of the ladies enjoyed the book.  I give it a 9 out of a 10.  I did not like two parts of the book and I cannot see why he wrote them the way he did...so it is a 9 not a 10.   Three fourths the way through the book I wrote the ending in my mind...and it was nothing like the way it ended. Go figure.

It was still a good read.  One of the gals in book club went to the book signing by William Kent Krueger in Park Rapids last weekend and she said it was very interesting and that he talks just like he writes.

  3. That sounds like a good book. I may have to read it. I love the Lorna Ludvik books. I've read 3 of them.

  6. Another book to add to my reading list. I think I've read most everything WKK has written so far. He is one of my favorite Minnesota authors.

  9. I remember reading some of Kreuger's books in the past but had sort of forgotten about him. I have requested The River we Remember from the library.

  10. The idea is to involve the reader into the story and make predictions.

  11. I actually love it when book endings are unpredictable. I'm tired of formulaic writing I find with some authors/genres. I haven't heard of the book - it does sound interesting, although mysteries/murders aren't quite my thing.
