Uffda

Far Guy started his cancer fighting medications on Tuesday evening July 1. Our insurance denied the meds. Luckily the pharmaceutical company has a program that he qualified for.

Here is $19,655 worth of medication. It is $351 a pill and he takes two a day. Uffda. Thank goodness for the pharmaceutical company program that makes our cost zero.

He is struggling through some side effects.  Sure wish he could catch a break. The side effects could go away after a month or so. Uffda.

  3. Same with my guy's cancer treatment. Two pills a day, both astronomically expensive, paid for by some company that pays the bill. He's been lucky with little side effects from them. Praying for FG's symptoms to do the same.

  4. I'm sooooo happy you found a source for hubby's medicine, Connie. Over $19,000 for it is absolutely criminal! Love, Andrea xoxo

  5. Hoping that the side effects go away soon. Cancer is such a scary thing. I know, I've been there twice. Tell him to keep fighting... he'll come out on the other side.

  6. Oh! My Gosh! The price of medication is outrageous! Terry had to take some medication last winter and the cost was $1, 250.55 a month. He also was able to get into a program. Far Guy really does need a break!!!

  7. I can't understand why some of these medications are so costly. We are caught in the middle as the medications are crucial. I hope the medication gives Far Guy some relief.

  8. Those prices are ridiculous. Praying that the side effects go away sooner than a month and that the treatments works quickly.

  9. Ouch. I recall what my hubby went through with his treatment, none of the side effects are easy to deal with. I hope FG can get something to combat the side effects.
The cost is so prohibitive. I do wish cancer treatment meds and procedures were covered for everyone.

  11. I hate everything about everything you all are going through. Except your dog therapists. That's a bright spot.

  12. The price of that medication is obscene! Glad you don't have to pay for it because you can't put a price on a life even though politicians and pharmaceutical companies try. Wishing Far Guy the best!

  13. I don't understand how insurance can deny something a doctor prescribed. Same thing happened to my Mom. It's ridiculous! Still sending those good healing vibes to you both

  15. I couldn’t help but think of all the folks that couldn’t get the medicine. Glad he found a way. Hope he can endure the cure. I am sure it gives him some hope. Hope helps us.

  17. Uffda is right!! What possible reason could insurance have to deny a cancer patient a medication? That seems criminal to me! I hope he starts to tolerate the drugs better quickly.

  19. I am beyond horrified that insurance can deny cancer treating drugs. Our healthcare system is for the birds. I would like to use stronger language but I think I have used up my quota this week.
I'm sorry. On top of everything else you should not have to worry about financing this healing journey. Praying for these billion dollar medications to do their job!!! And praying the side effects lesson.

  20. Thinking of you. Cancer is so frightening anyway, and then to have the lifesaving treatment so impossible to afford, that's awful. So thankful for those cancer assistance programs.

Uffda is right! How terrible that cancer drugs cost that much. Thank God he qualified through the pharmaceutical program. Life is hard enough without Ins. companies making it even harder. Praying his treatment works wonders for him!

  25. It is unconscionable that his medication would be denied! I am very glad that you found a way around it, but this should never happen. I hope the side effects won't be too severe, and that they pass quickly.

  26. Wow! Who can afford meds priced like that. I hope they are effective.
