Last night at supper..Far Guy said.."look at that." There were six half grown baby skunks outside of the living room window. Oh my. Glad they didn't spray anything.
Ain't life grand. Just when you think you have a few things under control...you don't. I grabbed my camera and got a couple of photos out of the kitchen window. They peeked in all the ground floor windows....so glad none of them were open!
Oh a lighter note. I made pork chops and a baked potato for supper. Jen went back home in the afternoon after we were all stocked up with groceries and supplies. She cleaned the bathroom and vacuumed. AND made us a pan of lasagna and Far Guys famous Italian sausage cheezy dip.
It was a nice day outside the high was 75F or 24C the low was 53F or 12C. I had a nap in the afternoon.
Far Guy is still struggling with the Cancer medications.
Far Side
They look quite cute and fluffy. I never met any skunks, as they do not live in Europe. And I suppose I would not find them cute after meeting one ;) Far Guy sounds like a tough nut, all my bst wishes!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea skunks are herd animals!
ReplyDeleteThat would be a surprise.... ewwww! I am happy you are home.
ReplyDeleteBea found a baby skunk ducking into the roadside weeds this morning on her walk. Luckily no contact ;-).
ReplyDeleteI have always thoughts skunks were quite cute and cuddly looking though I have never cuddled one... nor hope I ever do. Once, a mama skunk had a litter in a storage building on our farm. She couldn't stay there as we used that building on a daily basis. So I lashed a plastic kid's sand shovel to a 12 feet piece of rod we had laying around and scooped those babies up one by one to transfer them. Even 12+ feet away, the babies started stinking up things by the time I got them all in a bucket and transferred outside. Mama came by shortly after we blocked up the hole and took all of them off to some other location.
ReplyDeleteHoping that the cancer drug side effects lessen very soon. Prayers and virtual hugs.
ReplyDeleteYou have neighbors like I do. When, Sister was here we saw a possum in my old dog pen. I think he lives near my back shed. I’d choose him over your 🦨 family. Food sounds good. And your weather delightful. Above 95 here daily and upper 70’s at night. Poor Far Guy.Frances Bacon said— The remedy is worse than the disease. Hopefully not the case with FG.

I bet it's good to be home. The skunks simply wanted to welcome you back!
ReplyDeleteI had a de-scented and fixed skunk as a pet when I was a teenager. Got him as a wee young furball...long before it became illegal in Minnesota to own wild animals. He was the sweetest. Would follow right behind me on a leash when I took him for walks. Loved baths. Very cuddly. But they do love to dig.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your windows were shut!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my is right! Pepe' Le Pew X6!! Hopefully they move on. Otherwise, you may need some type of deterrent. Don 't want them spraying your doggie visitor, or you!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes that the cancer med struggles ease, or they offer a more palatable treatment.
That is quite the sight! I'd have been a little freaked out seeing that many skunks. Glad your windows weren't open.
ReplyDeleteI do hope Far Guy finds some relief soon. Poor guy!
Oh my goodness......6 skunks? It truly is a wonder that none of them decided to spew. so glad they didn't.... Prayers that these drugs become easier for Far Guy. Prayers for you both
ReplyDeleteThat Italian sausage cheesy dip sounds so good! Glad you are home safe and sound and that Jen takes such great care of you both!
ReplyDeleteI am also glad they didn't leave their scent behind!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry Far Guy is struggling with the cancer medications. Skunks are so cute though.
ReplyDeleteWe have a doorbell cam on the porch. I call it my wildlife cam as it picks up animals who use it to cross my yard during the night. And most nights one of the creatures walking across is a skunk. I have to remind myself to never open the front door when it is dark out.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely of Jen to leave you with a lasagna and more! She is a jewel. Now we just need to figure out how to control Far Guy's side effects gosh darn it.
Six skunks casing my house would make me a little nervous.
