After my post operative checkup, Jen and Andy packed up our car and Jen lead us home and unpacked our car. The Doctor said I had a lot of arthritis in the L4 L5 region and that is why I was in surgery such a long time. I am healing well but cannot twist or turn yet or use the lawn mower or ride in Ranger Blue. I am to keep walking and concentrate on building up the muscles in my back and legs....I will see the Physical Therapist later this week. Tuesday marks 4 week post operative. Tylenol is managing my discomfort. I still have numbness and pain in my left buttock, down my left leg and across my foot...it may or may not go away. Time will tell.
Far Guy is having numerous side effects with his cancer treatment. Nausea and stomach cramps are the worst. He got some pills for nausea yesterday from his Oncologist.
Jen is staying a bit to get us settled in ...groceries etc...thankful and truly blessed to have her with us!
Fijn dat je weer thuis bent. Wat naar die bijwerkingen bij Far Guy allebei veel sterkte gewenst!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the side effects, but so glad you are getting help when needed. Prayers for continued healing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you are home now, it will be nice to be in your comfort place.
ReplyDeleteI hope the meds do help with the side effects. :(
Both of you continue to be in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteKeeping you, Far Guy and your family in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteHopefully things will settle down in all camps.
ReplyDeleteYour Jen is a wonderful gal. I'm sure it feels good to be home again. Can't believe it has been 4 weeks already for you. I still have a couple of numb areas in both legs from my 2 hip replacements. They've gradually gotten smaller over the couple of years.
ReplyDeleteSo glad Jen is there! It's so hard to manage when we have no one but each other...Get better soon!

Family support is so important when we have health issues. Being from the generation who tend to shoulder our own troubles without bothering others, I found that family support during illness was touching and welcome. Bless you both, keeping you in my prayers for healing.
ReplyDeleteIm glad to hear Jen will be staying with you for a bit. It's nice to have the support.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with physio. I do hope the anti-nausea drugs help Far Guy.
I hope things change for the better once you're back home.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jen!!! What a blessing she is. I hope you both continue healing.
ReplyDeleteSorry for all the discomfort for both of you. My knees ache a lot, but you make me realize it’s really nothing compared to what others endure. Glad you have Jen in your corner. I’m thankful for my Laura. Those childbirth pains were worth the hurt.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! Prayers for continued healing for you and FG. What a blessing Jen and Andy have been for both of you.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful pineapple from the tropics!!! YAY! I'm so sorry you are having such huge health issues to over-come. My prayers are with you and Gene!
ReplyDeleteJen is such a huge blessing to the two of you. I'm so glad that she loves you both so much and is available to help you out. I'm sorry for the discomfort that both you and Far Guy are having and I'm glad that the doctor gave him some medicine to hopefully help him out. I'm praying that the pain you're still having will soon go away.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and ugs,
Betsy
Wish you both the very best as you battle this stage. My husband had the same surgery that you just had. Did you have an orthopedic surgeon or a neurosurgeon as he did?
ReplyDeleteI had a neurosurgeon
DeleteIt's got to be good to be back home. So glad Jen is sticking around to help out for a while. So sorry FarGuy is having some lousy side effects. I hope the medication helps. And I hope your numbness isn't permanent. That is a beautiful daisy! :)
ReplyDeleteNow that you are back home I hope you can settle in and be reasonably comfortable. Jen is a wonderful daughter.
ReplyDeleteIt must be tough to remember all the restrictions you have to think about as you go through your day. It sounds as though you're doing quite well. I wish the same for FG.
