Within a few miles was the Blenheim Bridge (in Blenheim, NY). It was on the national historic register and was either the longest single span bridge of its type in the world - - or a close second with one in California. I remember going there often as a "kid". It was part of the landscape in that area until Hurricane Irene. "She" destroyed it in 2011. The bridge had been there since 1855. For many, it felt like the loss of a friend.Lyndahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12404589772713955710noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456722259350114571.post-89931856592908188982013-02-10T02:03:44.516-06:002013-02-10T02:03:44.516-06:00I always wondered how the need for "covered&q...I always wondered how the need for "covered" bridge rose in the first place.Haddockhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11573906991666088642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5456722259350114571.post-41126964433942005142013-02-10T00:21:42.562-06:002013-02-10T00:21:42.562-06:00What a lovely covered bridge!
