Twirly Gig

This Twirly Gig was a May Day gift for me …from me. Somehow it ended up in my shopping cart one day when I was buying bird seed. When I got to the car Far Guy said “ That twirly gig must have lept right off the shelf into your cart.” He knows me well. I had one just like it last year except it was pink.  That one nearly drove me nuts…it kept losings its petals…I glued it many times…until finally the lawn mower took care of some of the petals and I threw the whole thing away.  This time I have fooled the foreigners that made it…I glued every wire on every petal before I put it outside.

New spinner

I wonder how long it will last?

It is one of the only things that remotely looks like a flower in our yard.

Took my Dad to Bingo…we were losers. He won last week when I was under the weather with my oral surgery…go figure…who is the jinx?

My mouth is finally better. I still have a bit of soreness and an earache…after 9 days…the stitches haven’t driven me crazy yet…I hope they dissolve soon…two are gone…two are left….flopping around driving my tongue nuts. I have finished the antibiotics and hope the infection does not come back again.

Grandpa used to call them Whirly Gigs. I should put some out in our yard! I saw some pretty decorations in the garden isle. Hmmm....

I love your twirly gig; I should get one for my yard. Glad you are feeling better. I know the feeling of those floppy stitches in the mouth. Praying you are 100% real soon. Have a great weekend.

I'm glad to hear your mouth is better, if not a hundred percent yet. Sorry you didn't win in bingo this week, but you scored with your pretty faux flower. :-)

The tongue always wants to fiddle with stitches, huh? Good to hear that you're feeling better.

I love your new twirly gig! Maybe the bright colors will encourage some flowers to come out. Good to know your mouth is getting better. I hope it is back to 100% soon.

So glad you are feeling better. I hope the antibiotics were enough to knock out the infection. If not--don't wait--call them. Sometimes those abscesses are hard to shake. Smart idea to glue the whirly gig ahead of time. I hope it lasts till the snow flies again in six months--LOL!

Nice Twirly gig ( I didn't know they were called that). I have one that is totally faded by last summer's sun and should be thrown away.
Glad you're feeling somewhat better.

That dental stuff is such a pain or bother. I am glad you are passed the worse part. My brother use to carve wooden whirligig blades, all one piece. and make a hole in it to use a nail as the shaft. I just now thought of that and the thing whirled a lot of the time. It was out by the old outhouse at the gate and it was always fun for me as a kid to mess with.

Just a hint for you two to figure out.

Well, since I'm not a shopper, I haven't had experience with things jumping of the shelf into my cart.

Glad to hear you are beginning to recuperate from the oral surgery. I like your whirligig. I mowed the lawn for the third time today. Because we don't have "lawn care" like a lot of the neighbors our yard is full of maroon, blue, white and speckled violets...also thousands of dandelions which are our gift to the bees.

Well at least you have a flower. My Canadian blood root finally bloomed 3 days ago only several weeks later than most springs after this years "EVERLASTING Winter.....

Thankful you are some better. I love your twirly gig. John bought a metal one at a yard sale recently and the windy days have kept it busy.

You are too funny! I can always depend on you to put a smile on my face unless you have a bone to pick! LOL! Love the whirly gig and aren't you the smart one to outsmart the Chinese! I hope it stays together for you this year. I like the orange!
