Lazy Summer Days

I am looking forward to a few lazy days…probably not yet this week.

My list of summer projects is so long it is only in my head instead of on paper.  Sometimes just getting the normal…cleaning, dusting, laundy and cooking is enough for a day with nothing extra done.

Lazy Days of summer

I did carve a bit yesterday.  My goal of one ornament carved and ready to paint a day must have ben a pipe dream.   We do have 39 ready to paint and 3 have been completely painted. (Andy and Jen carved their own ornaments and Jen painted them.) 42 total or just about 1/2 done.

I can paint when it is too hot to carve outside.  We both enjoy time carving outside…cleanup is a breeze Far Guy uses the leaf blower to blow the chips off the patio.

We took the time to inventory the deep freeze and the refrigerator freezer…seems we are stocked  up just like it is winter and we could be stormed in for days.

Canda Geese babies fuzzy Canada Geese family

No doubt the statue of the little girl that is on the dock scares Canada Geese away and keeps them from making a mess on the dock. Canada Geese are poop machines.

I had some pipe dreams too....wasted a weekend crafting with nothing to show for it and now I have a boatload of work to do this week! I know, just getting the basics done around the house is a major job much less anything extra. I need to mow badly but it is too wet in the morning and by afternoon it's in the high 90's! Ahhh! Too hot for me! Cute statue and I didn't know it kept the geese away...good idea! I see you have the same yellow water lilies that we have in our little cove. I love them. Maybe I should take up carving....at least you end up with something at the end of the day...I wasted a whole weekend and have nothing to show for it! LOL! Good for you guys!

These days I find the old saying "the lazy days of Summer" to be very true. Heat and humidity seem to sap all my strength and ambition. At least your freezers are full. Have a great day.

Yes, they are poop machines. I didn't realize that is a statue. What a great idea! :-)

Both geese and ducks are poop machines. My mom had both on the farm, and they were messy, messy!

Optimistic overestimation is a flaw of mine, too--LOL!
We have an injured Canadian goose hanging around our apartment complex. I really need to blog today. ;)

Why is is that the summer projects lists seems as long as the one for winter? I agree that some days just getting the household chores done consumes too much time. It's then that I remember a sign in my friend's home "Housework will make you ugly" so we should not take too many chances.

Our weather was perfect for being outside but the grass is too dormant to be mowed. I worked with the one larger bird cage outside cleaning it. The birds like it out there.

That's a statue?!?! Fooled me.

That photo is absolutely adorable. I kept trying to figure out which relative you had posing for you ;)

What's this with the cuteness factor lately? You have been posting the cutest stuff on both your blogs. Cuteness convergence? I don't care if it's a statue--that photo needs to be the cover on one of your cards!

Pretty photo of the Canada geese. We have really been hot the past week; we are both tired of staying in the a/c.
