Dandy Lawn

I mowed the front yard yesterday.  I left the side yard because it is blooming quite nicely!

Lawn of Lions

Maybe it is a Lion amongst lawns.

Beautiful dandy

They are just perfect in form and color..yellow being my favorite color in a flower.

Littlel violets

Even the little Violets seem to like their lawn companions.

I sat in the lawn a long time taking photographs and enjoying the simple beauty of the dandys!  They are about the only thing blooming for the bees.  I did see a couple of bees and a Cabbage White Butterfly….who was in a hurry to get someplace.

The ground is warm enough to go barefooted now, that used to be the rule…keep your shoes on until the dandys bloom.

The right of way across the street from our home is filled with dandy's and violets and it is so pretty. I wish you a very nice Friday! Enjoy the warmth!

Quite a few yards in my neighborhood have "dandy" lawns. Part of my back yard is a refuge for the wild violets. Makes the yard look pretty. Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.

They are so pretty when they are still yellow! Enjoy! And Happy Mother's Day to you!

Dandelions had a big part in childhood play when I was a kid. And my grandsons still pick their mama big bouquets every spring. I was surprised that they are rare to see here in my part of SC. That's okay, we have plenty of other weeds that try to invade the lawn!

They are pretty until they turn into seed pods. And then those strange long stems sticking up out of the ground! Glad you can walk around outside barefoot. That's such a lovely feeling. :-)

I just found out that dandelion seed tea is very good for your health.

I know they're weeds, but dandelions make me smile especially when clutched in the hand of an excited toddler.

No offence, but your dandelions look like the feeble little brothers of ours!! I think we had one warm dry day that we could have walked barefoot, the rest of the time we probably would have had cold mud squishing between our toes. Can never understand why people with livestock try to get rid of dandelions from their fields. The animals love them and those long tap roots bring up nutrients otherwise not accessible to the animals.

Dandelion root is anti-cancer too. Th
ey are doing a clinical study on it in Canada.

I love the carpet of yellow too. I harvest the roots, I have eaten the greens cooked like spinach, just make sure it isn't an area that had been sprayed with pesticide at some point. God gave us "weeds" for our health!

I always loved dandelions! I'm looking at some across the way right now and posted about them today--LOL! :)

I've got lots of those yellow flowers too. My next door neighbor on his acre not a single one. He uses gallons of Agent Orange or something akin...:(

I like it that you left them for the bees. We have dandelions around, just not many in our yard, where there are lots of other things blooming now. I actually do enjoy then along the roadsides as we walk. We have very big, very healthy dandys here.

Well, dandelions are blooming here but the ground is still very cold and there's no way I'm taking off my socks just yet, let alone my shoes.

Purple and yellow is my favourite colour combo in plants.
And you see it so much in nature.

I have violets that a lot like your dandy flowers. They are so thick and most years I leave them until the blooms are gone. I had to mow the past week just because my time is so limited while doing both places.

Right now I am looking at dandys, white violets and blues. Don't get the mower back from service for at least a week more, lol... Hubby goes nuts but I love the little bits of color throughout the lawn. Hugs, LJ

We're on our 2nd or 3rd round of dandy's now! Yellow is my favorite color too. I never heard that saying about not going barefoot until the dandy's bloom...good one!
