January Thaw

We are thawing out.

the walkway

The walk is clearing up bit by icy bit.  The rain followed by heavy snow twice since Christmas did a real number on the walkway.Snowcurls

The snow slid down Far Guys garage yesterday…it was a slow slide and it continued all day.  It may be gone overnight.  We hope Chance is not outside when it comes down.

We are expecting it to stay above feezing most days for the next ten days!!

The snow stick has shrunk by 6 1/2 inches.  Yesterday it was holding at 10 inches.

10 inches of snow

The great sort continues, this time to old files….it is a paper nightmare. One more day and then I have to switch gears…I promised to help someone with a project and it will require my attention for a few days. Then it will be back to the great sort…or maybe the Shiny Brite tree…it is still up and pretty.

That is an incredible photo of the snow coming off the garage roof. I've never seen it suspended in a curve like that.

January thaw gives a hint of hope and then another cold blast usually follows on its heels. I always look forward to that hint. It makes the cold more bareable.

Is January thaw a common occurrence there? I'm sure you appreciate have weather you can breathe in for a while.
That snow slide off the roof looks dangerous. Watch out, Chance!

My decorations are still up inside too and it is warm here. They keep showing all green on the radar and yet no rain...it must be all humidity! LOL! I'm sure Chance can still move fast if he hears that thing coming down....he's a smart dog!

Wow, I've never seen snow suspended like that. We had such cold weather in early January, and now this warmth when it's supposed to be the coldest week of the year. I suspect we'll have a cold snap or two yet. Congrats on your progress with the sorting!

Looks like the thaw is hitting both sides of the continent.

Well, I can claim that I sent the good weather. Although I wouldn't like rain in the winter to make everything icy. We had thawing for a week and something very odd ...night time lows that stayed above 0 C

That snow sliding off the building is amazing! I was just reading back to Chance's post. He writes a good post, and always makes me laugh.

We have had so much rain and are muddy and mucky and haven't had any snow falling or on the ground for some time now why yesterday the temps hit 16C OR 60F and sunshine which we hadn't seen in over a week . I like the photo of the snow sliding off of the roof , oh yeah hope Chance doesn't get all that snow falling on him YIKES ! More rain on its way here yet again but if it all was snow we would be buried in it for sure lol ! Thanks for sharing , have a good day !

The snow slid off our upper roof like that two weeks ago, and just hung there for a few days.

That's a great shot of the slowly sliding snow. I guess if Chance has the misfortune of being anywhere near when it falls he'll NEVER want to go outside to do the necessary! Have a good week.

Wow! All that snow sliding off the roof. I hope you guys will have a good week. Give Chance a hug from me!

I know there would be a dog or two here that would be freaked by the sliding snow. Your weather sounds like how ours has been, although much more extreme of course. Sunshine and green fields today, lovely!

Yes the thaw is a good thing. I don't want to complain about the mud, but we have it. Today we are having a snowstorm north of us (Tuesday now).
