Cold Weekend

I made some lists and checked them twice.  I will go to town when it gets warmer this coming week.  I made a list of food to prepare for Christmas.  I  hope to keep it real simple.

It snowed but it is too cold to shovel, I will shovel Sunday afternoon after it warms up.

A peek out the window.Peak out the window

Blue jars I should probaby put marbles in. A tiny vase with a pencil carving, a Loon that Far Guy carved, an Angel that I bought at a garage sale, my blue collie ( a cover for a candy dish) and a Nutcracker.  Hanging in the window on the left a stained glass piece from my cousin Mary Jane and the other large piece of glass was a gift from a now very famous Glassblower.

The snowstick is out this window. We have eight inches of snow, it was so cold when it snowed last night that it was like a sprinkling of powdered sugar over everything.

I finally changed the flag.

I have kept busy reading, working on a crochet hat and making a few more Christmas Cards.  I also did some indexing at Family Search.  Far Guy woodcarved for awhile.  Then we all had a nap!

Yes it is bitterly cold here, but there are no snakes or bugs…not even any of those ticks. It makes us appreciate those days when it is above zero.

Brrr! That is definitely bitter cold. It doesn't seem possible that it can be so cold up there and still manage to be as comfortable as you are. I hope it warms up soon, for all your sakes. Love your pretty new header. :-)

Sounds like you guys are snug and warm. Good planning! You are wise to make your lists ahead of time, to avoid last minute scrambling to get your cooking done. Have a safe and Merry Christmas!

I'm staying inside, too. Love all the blue glass at your window - nice contrast to the world of white beyond. . .

Although I think it's cold here I am very grateful I do not know cold as well as you.

Merry Christmas to all!

Every year I look forward to the photo of your Shiney Brite Christmas tree. I am never disappointed! Your window photo this morning showed that even the cold can be made beautiful. Merry Christmas

All the blue in the window is so pretty, especially with all that snow in the background.
It's time for me to update my lists and start checking them twice. The next round of need for food is fast approaching, and the gift list needs to be checked and holes filled in and then the wrapping!
Happy Christmas week to you.

Your blue glass is so pretty, especially with the snow behind. I just love blue glass.

Too cold to shovel is right! I haven't shoveled off the patio yet, either. 40 below wind chill right now, so no thanks--LOL! Stay toasty warm and putter and take naps. Sounds like a plan! ;)

Your tree with all the gorgeous ornaments is lovely! I really like the blue glass arrangement in the window too.
Hopefully I don't have to go shopping this week because the streets are a mess and there are way too many shoppers desperate to get last minute stuff.

Nice Chance photo in your header.
The Shiny Brite tree is lovely- you almost need a bigger tree for all of them!
I hope it warms up soon for you.

Your blue window is beautiful! Yes it has been so cold - I have been going back and forth to the shop and our barn and once a day dressing up real warm and going out longer (brrrr it goes right through a person). You will have a busy shopping week when it warms up :)

Hooray for indexing! Yes, that is definitely a cold weather task.

All the blues in your window look delightful against the snow scene!

Pretty blue window! Meredith would like that, she is a blue person. Your weather sounds brutal. Ours was bad enough, but now we are heading into a mild spell and rain, so it is going to be a sloshy mess.

I thought they used to say it couldn't snow when it got that cold? Well, they're usually wrong anyway so that just proves it. Your blue glass in the window is so pretty. I wish I had the instructions for those little yarn hats. Those are darn cute! What lovely ornaments from your grands. It's 10 F here this morning and won't get above freezing. It is crazy weather....you guys stay in and stay warm!

It is good when you can find a reason to love the cold!

Much as I'm beginning to hate the cold it does serve a purpose.
