Sunshine after the snow!

The storm named Argo brought the snow in from the North and the East.  We usually don’t get snow from that direction usually it is North or North West or West or South West.

Snow from North and East

The squirrels were pests today, they were hungry.

Squirrel pain in the neck

Chance got a squirrel by the tail today but he let it go…pretty exciting for an old dog.  Old dogs can run faster through the snow than fat squirrels.

We shoveled, then we shoveled some more.  I did some shovel leaning.  Finally we got the walk done, in front of the garage doors, the patio and a path for Chance to go to the woods.  The snow was very heavy…very wet and full of moisture. The walk melted quickly once the snow was removed.

Birdfeeders

I hit the feeders with the broom until the snow was gone.  I am sure the birds figured I had gone mad.  When Far Guy took the feeders to be filled, the Chickadees put up quite a protest.

Our side roads are pretty good, but any road with shade is rutty and icy.  It will take a few days for the roads to get better.  I don’t know if this snow will stay, part of it may melt, it will certainly shrink in height.  I cannot imagine that it would all melt.  We will see.

The snow is beautiful in the sunshine.
Bob has never caught a squirrel but she never gives up trying. She has convinced them not to hang our around our bird feeder though and that's all I ask!

Very pretty! We had the first storm of the winter last night. Only rain here but very heavy rain. And what was his name? Angus.

Do you shovel only or do you have a snow blower?

Is is beautiful!! Oh, how pretty! I laughed at the sight of you beating the bird feeders with the broom...and what the birds thought. Weetie caught and killed a squirrel once. I felt terrible. Poppy praised her.

Miggs catches the squirrels gives them a bit of a bath then she lets them go . Our birdies are feasting like mad at the feeders now fighting the winds poor things . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !

With the crazy climate we have your snow could melt. We get chinooks so some winters we lose all our snow and then we start all over again.

We have a snow blower, but this snow was so heavy it was better shoveled. There are some places that must be shoveled, in front of the garage doors etc...

Today's picture of the bird feeders in the sunshine looks so much prettier than yesterday's!

Oh boy! I bet Chance was thrilled to have almost got a squirrel.
The mental picture I have of you whacking the snow off the feeders makes me grin.

How wonderful for the birds that you are there, looking after their feeders! Snow is beautiful, but hard on birds and other small animals.

I'm sure you hate it, but I think it's so pretty. Especially with the blue sky and red feeders :-).

Good for Chance...Nitty and Annie will be so happy to hear that! They are harassed by squirrels all the time. Beautiful when the sun shines on the snow. Be careful shoveling the wet heavy kind!

I missed commenting on this. Things seem to be settled down in my life and yet everything seems to be scheduled full. It is good school is done or I would miss our on important things that should be doing.
